Strange Cloud/Storm |
How weird and/or creepy does this look? We stopped to get gas the other day and I noticed some people pointing and looking up. When we looked up, we saw this. I snapped a quick picture with my phone. The strange thing about it was that it had these tendril-like clouds hanging down that seemed to be constantly moving, almost like a giant jellyfish!
Definitely unusual and fast moving. Even though it was ominous and apocalyptic looking, it was only followed by brief heavy rain...thankfully no tornadoes or hail or meteors or alien motherships.

That is DEFINITELY an alien mothership of clouds. You were very lucky I think.
ReplyDeleteBoy, that IS freaky. eeek
Ha, that's what I thought too. Very freaky and yes, not sure what it was 'trying to become', but I think we dodged it whatever it was.
DeleteOh my, that IS scary. Is it just me or is the sky greenish behind it? You could be lucky that there wasn't a tornado because it might have been something like that trying to form but fizzled out. Definitely scary. I would have been in my cellar, just in case, ha. Becca
ReplyDeleteYes, the sky was greenish and I know that's a tornado sign. It was definitely interesting to look at and kind of awe inspiring in a way. I'm glad it just fizzled out. Side note, I'm jealous of your cellar, oh what I'd give to have one of those! My grandparents' had them (Oklahoma) and I always wanted one. Silly, I know. :-)
DeleteI was thinking alien mothership too! Very cool photo.
ReplyDeleteYep, definitely. War of the Worlds or something, ha. I wish I had video of it, but it was all happening so fast. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the comment!!
DeleteIsn't it the same Clouds in 'Independence Day" ?
DeleteIt was totally like that, ha. You know when you first look up, it's so out of the ordinary, your mind goes in some crazy directions, ha.
DeleteWow that looks weird!! We have had a lot of abnormal looking clouds way up here in Northern NY also. I'll have to try and find some pics for my blog to share with y'all!
ReplyDeleteI wonder where all that's coming from? A friend of ours said they saw a very strange cloud a month ago, said it was oval shaped and had lightning in it! Go figure. Let us know when you post some, I'd like to see.
DeleteI love weird cloud formations....we have great clouds down here on the southern prairie...
ReplyDeleteHAppy Sunday!!
It is kind of awesome how mother nature works huh? I bet on the prairie there are a lot of great opportunities to see cool stuff. Happy Sunday to you too! Or is that happy Monday now? Ha.
DeleteOh my gosh, that is so cool! It's scary, but it's still neat. reminds me of independence day, haha.
ReplyDelete2nd Man said that as soon as we looked up, "wow that looks like Independence Day", LOL. Too funny!
DeleteAwesome picture! Love weird clouds!
ReplyDeleteThis definitely ranks high on the 'weird meter'. :-)
DeleteThat is very odd looking. Keep an eye on the sky, watching the weather channel right now on the hurricane, looks like it is skirting away from Florida and heading more for Louisana, with tornado predictions too ... take care, check the emergency list just to be prepared, tis the season.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, we're watching the hurricane stuff as well. Every time they do one of their "model runs" it comes further and further West. The further West it comes, the closer we get to the "cone". Definitely keeping an eye on things and we are pretty well stocked just in case. I don't want anyone to get hurt or lose property but hoping it fizzles out is probably pointless, so I'll just hope for a weak storm and landfall in a remote area.
DeleteTo me it looks like a giant cat paw, getting ready to whap some misbehaving town underneath there!
ReplyDeleteHa, that's funny, I never saw that but now I do! I'm just glad the 'cat didn't strike', LOL! At least while we were under it! ;-)
DeleteI've spent a lot of time this summer complaining about English rain. It's pouring yet again as I write. But at this time of year I don't envy your weather one bit. Keep safe you guys.
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes, there is always something crazy going on somewhere huh? Sorry about all your rain, it's always seemingly too much or too little huh? Where is the 'regular' weather? It's all crazy now, ha.
