We were cooking dinner not too long ago and looked out the kitchen window and saw this...
...just a couple of deer strolling through the driveway and front yard. Nothing like a wonderful meal, a couple glasses of wine and some local wildlife just casually saying hello.
We love it out there here!

ReplyDeleteWe have small herds of deer wandering all over Canon City and lounging about in the pastures here! I love seeing them!
They are waiting for you to plant a garden or your fruit trees to start bearing fruit. Just kidding they are probably the good guys.

ReplyDeleteOK, so being a person who has gardened with deer for over 20 years, and whose neighbors just had a wild turkey crash through their upstairs window yesterday, this post sounds like the first entry in the "Diary of a Snow Shoveler" joke that circulates around every winter: December 8 - 6:00 PM It started to snow. The first snow of the season and the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from heaven. It looked like a Grandma Moses print. So romantic, we felt like newlyweds again. I love snow! And ends with: December 31 - I set fire to what's left of the house. No more shoveling.
