Not enough around me for anything beyond that. :) I've also been fortunate to have some of my strawberries ripening, and nothing tastes as good as home-grown strawberries, even if they aren't as big as the ones in the store!George Boothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00226965492902938743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-82493546972159323012013-05-15T06:36:59.228-05:002013-05-15T06:36:59.228-05:00It is so fulfilling to be able to harvest wild fru...It is so fulfilling to be able to harvest wild fruit! My parents have tons of blackberry bushes close to their house and it is so worth it to fight the thorns to pick them. I have made blackberry jam a few times and then proceeded to ration it out so it lasted as long as possible. Luckily I am the only one in the house that likes it! Enjoy the dewberries!<br />SarahAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-9231770123078123242013-05-15T02:59:43.704-05:002013-05-15T02:59:43.704-05:00I am in the South and have heard of dewberries, bu...I am in the South and have heard of dewberries, but I don't recall seeing them growing, ever. I am anxiously awaiting blackberries in June. Unfortunately, I will have to pay for them. But, that's okay. I will bring a bag of gold for the exchange. I figured since people hadn't heard of them in other parts of the country, I'd add the link. And yep, they do grow right along the ground. I haven't found them to be sweeter all the time but some years they are. I think it's the weather. And they are juicier. 1st Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04861609647607912193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-36707402469897499942013-05-14T22:16:02.303-05:002013-05-14T22:16:02.303-05:00Isn't wild edible food awesome? They are not quite as sweet, but they are juicy and just wonderful for something that grows wild.1st Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04861609647607912193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-3115360069627969672013-05-14T15:54:15.187-05:002013-05-14T15:54:15.187-05:00They remind me of the wild black berries we used t...They remind me of the wild black berries we used to have up north.Sandy Livesayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06183449816586125720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-8796862396943904422013-05-14T13:09:06.565-05:002013-05-14T13:09:06.565-05:00You're making me hungry! But after a Wiki search I see that the Dewberry trails along the ground more vine like where as the Blackberry grows on more upright canes.
