Regular readers know that I have a favorite place to look for bargains...our downstairs trash area! Our building has trash chutes on every floor, and they feed into a separate room, but for boxes and other things that people can't put in the chute, there is an area (indoor) near the loading dock where people can put the things they don't want. I've found quite a few cool items over the last few years.
So what did I spy this time? Some artificial plants in a box. I snatched it up and brought it upstairs. I fluffed them up and here is what we have:
This is a great one, looks very real, even up close. Might be perfect on one of the desks at the house.
Then this really pretty red orchid. The leaves are velvety, and it too also looks very real (even down to the clips on the stem). We think it will be pretty in the guest room since "flowers" will be a theme in there.
Last but not least, these are just awesome. Since there are two, we were thinking they might be good in the guest bathroom to add some greenery and countertop interest. Or maybe one for each side of our sinks in the master bathroom.
Hey, as we always say, for whatever reason, someone didn't want them and now instead of going to the landfill, we can get some enjoyment out of them. That's always a win/win!
You found some beautiful plants! They do look real. They’ll add some lovely greenery and colors.
ReplyDeleteOMG ... you really do score some of the best finds on Fridays! So much better then the thrift shops because these are free for the taking and really nice!
ReplyDeleteFree artificial plants are a real find. I have found $5 picks for a quarter at yard sales, but nothing so beautiful. Practical Parsimony
ReplyDeleteYou are going to miss these freebies you find when you move from the apartment.
