We're going to need some rocking chairs!
Probably just getting two for the front porch.
Speaking of, here is what our front porch will look like. They won't put the railing on until closer to finish so it doesn't get damaged and it's easier in and out for the workers, so I mocked up this image (probably not to scale, ha) and added the railing to have a better visual of how ours will look. The porch posts will be white.
It is 15' deep x 14' wide. Not as wide as we had before of course, but this one is 5' deeper than our last one. That makes it 210 square feet of new space to decorate and hold some furniture.
And of course, two rocking chairs are a MUST have.
Saw these the other day. They are definitely neat and very "Texan" but they might be "too much" for the front porch.
Saw these at another store. Just normal, old fashioned rockers. Probably not black, that would disappear onto the porch, we'd rather have the white that will pick up the white trim colors around the windows etc. We'll just buy two for now, one for each of us.
But this also means we will have a front porch to furnish. A couple of these, a small table in between, some hanging plants...heck, with 200 square feet, we will probably be able to put much more on there than we realize.
Let the planning begin!

Just my 2 cents worth here. Honestly, I like the first ones. With the blue, it would make for a good contrast color and would look great with the red and white porch.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and keep cool
Blessings 2 U both
I do like the Texas ones too, and they would be a good contrast. Of course, the last time i was at the store after i took pics, they were gone. But we'll get what we're meant to have. Probably white and then we can decorate accordingly, ha.
DeleteI like the white chairs. You can always add color by accessorizing with chair pads and even change them out for the different seasons.
ReplyDeleteI was kind of thinking the same, white is like a blank slate. I was thinking about pillows but never thought about cushions. Awesome! And seasonal!
DeleteMy two cents worth…get the black ones. We had white rockers on side porch for years, they get dirty and need to be painted often. Use colorful pillows to brighten up.
ReplyDeleteNever thougth about this perspective. Will have to consider that. Thanks!!
DeleteDefinitely white for accessorizing the seasons. Plus, more importantly, you can see ants or spiders on them. Practical Parsimony
ReplyDeleteDang another vote for another great reason. We DO have spiders out there of course, and even, yikes, black widow spiders, and that might make sense to be able to see easier. Thanks!
DeleteI would go with the white rockers, add colorful pads for comfort while sitting! A cute little patio table ... round ... to hold your evening drinks as you watch the sunsets and the evening critters!
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind...we can sit with some wine and watch the deer or bunnies, like would be perfect!!
DeleteI liked the ones with blue, it is a nice contrast so if you go with plain maybe use blue accessories. I adore having space to decorate and can feel the fun you are going to have.
ReplyDeleteDecorating any space is so fun right? And an outdoor space adds an extra level of fun ha. A vote for the Texas flag ones. :-)
DeleteI love the white rockers. So classic and will look beautiful with your red porch.
ReplyDeleteLots of relaxing porch rocking time coming up soon!
A vote for white. I think they might end up looking the most "classic" for a farmhouse feel.
DeleteGotta’ get the red, white & blue ones for summer. White or black for the rest of the year so you can accessorize by season. You’ll have plenty of storage space now for off season things, right?
ReplyDeleteA woman who sees the best of both worlds I like how you think!! Do like the idea of accessorizing by season too. And yes, we will have storage for off season items.
