And it seems to have struck earlier than usual. You are right the clothes are just wringing wet after just a bit outside. I bet the canned goods look amazing. These pickle cukes are the best we are definitely going to grow them from season to season. I bet there was a shock, gosh doesn't practically everything grow in Washington? Well, rhubarb doesn't grow here at all so we have to find it at the store and that's honestly all we've ever known. Next time he does it, I will have to photograph the details and steps. And make sure I get him to write it all down (or let me write it all down, ha). 1st Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04861609647607912193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-89794258062601639252017-06-05T23:04:28.379-05:002017-06-05T23:04:28.379-05:00Oh owl feathers, I never thought about that. My compliments to 2nd Man.
Your garden is producing wonderfully - lots of goodies to come from that bounty!
Yep, with the humidity so high, it feels like a sauna out there. It wears you out fast. Just picking my garden every day leaves my clothes dripping. I cool off for a bit, then start canning - even with the AC in the house, it’s pretty darned hot work. But then I look in my hutch and see all the canned goods and know it’s worth it.
Texas Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00547037404676565726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-28266921808777379452017-06-05T11:46:25.521-05:002017-06-05T11:46:25.521-05:00You both have SO much energy!!! Our "dry heat" gives both farmer markets and regular groceries different produce than we had in Washington state ... and you take what you get when it's available ... we've been talking about rhubarb lately and it shows up usually ONCE a year at the grocery .. so you grab as much as you can handle and feint from shock at the register but enjoy it while you can!!! Similarly Washington strawberries ... the imported ones from California are not comparable at all ... much brighter red, more seeds, and not nearly as juicy .. huge difference ... but on the other hand we love living in Tucson after all those years of clouds, wind, rain, rain, rain, rain, wind and clouds... Ya can't have everything !! Good on ya boys!! Enjoy all the goodness ya got going on!!!beachdaddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09792137239502289918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-6253909450925173562017-06-05T10:31:03.465-05:002017-06-05T10:31:03.465-05:00Your week's harvest looks wonderful! Keep your knife sharp and your basket ready for all the good things to come this summer. I'm a big believer in animal spirit guides and finding a feather for me is like a kind of spiritual "hello" from the sky. Brown feathers represent the Earth, home life, and feeling really grounded. Maybe you have a bird looking over you? Do you need to learn something about your home life? Another thought is that brown feathers signify endurance...maybe when you saw the feather, your foul friends were trying to tell you to take it easy in that heat!! :) I love symbols.

I'm very envious of your harvest! It all looks so great!!! And the bread looks delicious!Rain https://www.blogger.com/profile/14377719049819222133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-24153365278866221182017-06-05T08:36:25.692-05:002017-06-05T08:36:25.692-05:00You blessed you are to have your own bounty of veg...You blessed you are to have your own bounty of veggies. Ohh I am just green with envy, waiting for ANYTHING from my garden. 2nd man sure can bake some beautiful loaves of bread! What recipe does he use for his bread? I am making my own bread now. I have yet to really get in the artisanal bread. I just checked out a few library books on bread making/ baking. Does hand score, stencil the bread or use a brotform? What bread baking tools/ utensils does he use?
