I hear that kitties and small dogs go missing around areas with lots of coyotes, usually where high density neighborhoods/apartments have infiltrated into their area. 1st Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04861609647607912193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-39287808420069760672017-12-10T17:34:32.101-06:002017-12-10T17:34:32.101-06:00Yeah, me neither. I heard them in the front yard of that house as I got out of the car one night. I rushed right into the house. Before the first humans arrived some 800 to 1200 years ago the only mammals here were a couple of types of bat. All other mammals, including humans and cats, have been introduced. Right now we have an early start to Summer - it is hot (to us here in Wellington) at 24 to 26C most days and very dry. Tabby cat Megs is loving to catch the little brown skinks that are active a couple of months earlier than last Summer. Silly girl doesn't understand that they are a protected species!. I hope 2nd family's stock and poultry are all safe. Does 2nd Family have any trouble with them and their animals?
When I lived in the country, the coyotes would pass right by my house at night, giving their eerie howls - it always gave me the creeps because I knew they were out hunting. I had to have a 6 foot chain link fence to protect my dogs. But cats won’t stay in a fenced backyard, so sadly, they got a couple of my cats. Sometimes they would get a newborn calf from my Dad's cattle herd. Hoping the coyotes around your place don't bother your neighbor-animals.
Texas Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00547037404676565726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-30292700630987727932017-12-04T19:02:29.291-06:002017-12-04T19:02:29.291-06:00Wow, that's cool. But then when I thought about what they can do, it made me nervous, ha. By the way, this wasn't a person, it was a wildlife rehab place. It couldn't be released back into the wild so it was sort of their mascot. Sid note, fur was surprisingly soft.

Patrickpatricknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-24697000050993146832017-12-04T18:52:04.192-06:002017-12-04T18:52:04.192-06:00We had a lot of coyotes around when we lived in th...We had a lot of coyotes around when we lived in the country in Illinois. The late Harper, a smooth collie/malinois mix, used to dig under the fence around the backyard so he could run wild at night. Apparently the coyotes never bothered him because he always returned safely, though he frightened me every time he took off.

Love,
JanieJanie Junebughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10573607241326291404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-54955408859965715152017-12-04T17:56:03.716-06:002017-12-04T17:56:03.716-06:00Oh gosh, I don't think I could handle seeing n...Oh gosh, I don't think I could handle seeing nature's "cycle" in real life, i.e. the fawn. When Alex and I watch nature documentaries, I look away and put my hands over my ears during such scenes, he usually fast forwards them now. I hope the coyotes don't do any harm to your friendly neighbours the goats!Rain https://www.blogger.com/profile/14377719049819222133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552387675026716797.post-10464412383677348342017-12-04T15:15:08.228-06:002017-12-04T15:15:08.228-06:00How exciting!
