I am dreading this weekend’s even worse temps.
One of the Houston meteorologists said that yesterday was the hottest July 20 on record at 102.
Your poor grass – I think the technical term is “crunchy.”
If you need me, I'll be eating snowcones until November! Temperatures same here, but I think our summer started a few weeks ago when the triple digits kicked in. So Hot, so early. Right now we're having what would normally be our July temperatures.
2011 holds the record for most 100° days in a row: 27 in total, from July 17 to August 12. A total of 90 triple-digit days were recorded that year, between May 25 and Sept. 29. The summers of 2001 and 2020 also saw 20-day stretches of temperatures at or above 100°.
Our grass is still green but not mowing as often, plus hubby raised the mower up a notch or 2.
Right about now; I'm ready for them Fall temperatures to kick in.
We have soaker hoses in our raised beds, so we do water them early in the morning.
Do take care, Everyone stay safe & stay cool.
Have a wonderful eveningColleennoreply@blogger.com
