MASTER BEDROOM COMPLETE

Here is a view of the master bedroom looking back toward the closet and bath.  You can see the new white walls, the redone floor and just the overall brighter and lighter look...

Here is the angle toward the windows in the room, the window frames were redone as well.  You can catch a glimpse of the new half walls dividing the sitting area from the master bedroom.

Here is the angle from the middle of the room looking toward the new area, a sitting area/reading area.  We had the new walls built and the support columns put inside the walls.  There was a center support that was removed. The new threshold was put it but at the time this photo was taken, it was not yet stained but that has been done now.

Here is the area inside.  It's not huge, but big enough for some bookcases on each side, and a couple of big comfy chairs with ottomans.  Or chaise lounges?  Decisions decisions, ha.  We would like it to be a reading area, lots of light, and a nice place to sit and relax with a book in hand.

  1. Cool concept, 1st Man! Where did you get the inspiration from? Everything looks so simple yet inviting. ;)

    1. Well first of al, welcome! thanks for commenting. There wasn't much that inspired us other than white, bright, and simple. The half walls weren't there before, just three support "poles". Didn't like that look, ha. So I asked the contractor to build the half walls, to sort of separate the space Ironically, this is one of the last places we have yet to decorate. The bedroom portion is coming along nicely but this little extra sitting area is still empty. Stay tuned, lol.

      Thanks again!

  2. Oh, I love white too! My house is also filled with white walls and windows. Don’t you just love the spirit it brings to the room? When I’m feeling tired after a long day from work, looking at my white interiors relaxes me for some reason. I think maybe because it lightens up the room, and therefore, it lightens up my mood too. Nice choice!

    1. Thank you, we appreciate it. Most of the house will just be white with white curtains. We'll let the furniture and accessories provide the color.

  3. I agree with you on making the room in the third picture as a reading area, 1st man! The windows will provide good lighting while you are reading, and those windows will invite some cool breeze towards your house. That would be totally relaxing!

  4. Every room looks cozy, what’s only missing is the outside view. Your windows will be more beautiful with a breathtaking view. It seems like there’s something left undone outside. The trees, grass, and the soil is blocking the view. I hope that you’ll come up with a better solution regarding that. =)

    1. The picture is an optical illusion. The house is pier and beam and sits up about 3 feet off the ground. So what you are seeing is just the limbs of a tree and other bushes that are farther away from the house. :-)

  5. Yup, the room shown at the last photo is a great place to be the reading area and place to relax. But I think you should also consider installing window treatments to add some decoration to the room. Plus, adding up some blinds or shades would help regulate the amount of sunlight entering the room. What do you think, 1st man?
