MONDAY THRIFT STORE FINDS

Thrift store finds
I love sharing my thrift store finds, hopefully to inspire you to check out that thrift store you've been driving by all this time.  You might just find something you've been looking for, or maybe even didn't know you needed.

At my new job, I found that there are about 5 thrift stores and resale shops within driving distance at lunch. That could be dangerous, LOL.

On recent trips (last week), I found these random items:

A new silver tray, it's going on the blue dresser.  This is silver plated, not solid silver, but it has a similar design to the other tray I blogged about before and after a bit of cleaning, I think it will look just perfect.  $3.

Then the two cobalt blue glass pieces.  I wanted a vase for the bedroom, and found this one.  The other piece is a drinking glass, I'm thinking it might make a nice glass for the bedside table, or perhaps another small vase.  $4 for both.

And lastly, the metal easel, it's tall and would be perfect as is, but I actually have another use in mind for it, other than the obvious, and I'll keep you posted on that progress, check back next week.  It was the best bargain of the day. $2.

A $9.00 shopping day is always a good day!

  1. Finding things in thrift store is so rewarding, you don't have that guilty feeling of buying new and it's like winning a treasure hunt! ;-D

    1. You're right it's just like a treasure hunt. Treasures you didn't know you needed until you find them, ha. And it's the recycling!!

  2. I have that very same metal easel, and I use it to hold the small whiteboard my young grandson made at a Home Depot Kids' Workshop. He put 2 or 3 dabs of orange paint on the border, so it is a highly original work. I write notes to myself on the whiteboard and they show up nicely because the easel gives them prominence.

  3. Even tho I go with the intention of sticking to specific things to look for I always find something else to buy too .... Soon it will be time to get out all the children size denim overalls I bought and plaid shirts and straw hats and start to assemble my scarecrows for Halloween............... I need to look for wig stands for heads.

    1. True, almost all of these finds were while I was going for "something else", ha. Half the time I forget what I needed until I get home and go "oh! That's what I was looking for". Nothing like having to go back AGAIN. ha.

  5. I have tons of blue glass packed away in boxes. I used to collect it but don't seem to know what to do with it anymore.

    1. You should try selling it on eBay or running an ad? Or maybe it's time to redecorate a room!

  6. Lovely stuff as always, my local thrift stores don't seem to have as good stuff, a lot of tat really, but there is a place I drive to now and again (it's a long way) that has loads and loads of things I could buy. Very dangerous. The last thing I bought was a quirky picture for the kitchen (don't think it featured on any of the photos). It is a vintage sign for a fairground ride, costing 2d a ride (that's 2 old British pennies). I will photo it some time, I love it.
