BLUE OUTDOOR DINING, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Blue and white outdoor dining, image courtesy of Southernliving.com
Love the blue on this outdoor dining scene.  I really like the hanging candle lanterns too and would be neat hanging under "Barnabas" (our soon to be dinner/party tree area).  I think this color palette, blue and white, is very clean and fresh looking.  Now I've just go to find some of those hanging lanterns that I can paint.  Hmm, maybe if they were cheap enough, I could paint sets in different colors for different settings later on.

Be inspired!

    1. You know that might be what appealed to me, it looks pretty simple to pull together. Of course, easy for me to say right now, ha.

  2. It does look beautiful and very inviting. I had a thought yesterday, to do with your big freeze and have to mention it before I forget. If it's not too cold at the farm, you should venture out on a clear day with your new camera. The macro setting will get you close enough for some amazing crystallising shots of frost and your cropping function will do the rest. I have some amazing shots of grass etc. Just a thought. But stay warm!!

    1. Oh dang, that would have been a great idea. It was literally cold for two days, then all of a sudden it was like 65, ha. Of course, cold again in a few days, though not that cold I do believe. But thanks for the suggestion, I will always be looking for ways to play with my new camera, ha.

  3. My table cloth that zips onto my picnic table is a pale blue stripe. I find that most color schemes I would use can be done with that table cloth. Maybe with black or white lanterns the would go with lots of color schemes. Some day I will find the film shot of my outdoor dining area with a meal set up.

    1. Now that's a cool idea, we're going to use two picnic benches, end to end. I will have to remember that. Thanks!!

  6. I don't know if you have a Christmas Tree Stores in your area, but I've found some of the Lanterns in the store in my area. They even have Indoor/Outdoor ones with LED faux candles with timers. Price runs from $9.99 to $19.99

I think TJMax may sell them too.

  7. Love those lanterns, pillows, colors! Barnabas is going to be the best looking tree in the West :) We have lanterns like these for when the power goes out but we burn paraffin oil in them instead kerosene. The paraffin is a much cleaner oil and has a very faint smell, especially when burned indoors.

(You could probably paint them any color of your choosing)

    1. Ha, that's the plan. Now lanterns are a nice idea. Lots of light, clean burning etc. I would assume safe for hanging in a tree during dinner, ha.

And wow, thanks for the link that's an awesome price. I DO like the red. Heck red white and blue, it would be an all American theme dinner, ha.

  8. This picture (along with a email form Pinterest) inspired me to create a Pinterest board for you to look at; it has lots of outdoor livingroom ideas. Most of them are about lighting suggestions. Let me know if you want to get hooked....I mean have a look. It's title if you want to look on your own is under my pet name for you.
