OK, this is total pie in the sky dreaming and wishful thinking. I don't think our climate would ever let us have something like this but it's pretty nonetheless, right? Besides, now that Fall is bringing fewer and fewer flowers to all of us, I thought it might be nice for some last blast of color. This looks like the entrance to some magical, secret garden of some sort. I think if we ever did have something like this, we'd just get a couple of chairs and sit here right here in the entrance and look at it, LOL.

ReplyDeleteThings sometimes grow well here.......in the west part of Texas........but it just about wears a person out to make it do so. The hardest thing on plants here is the hot dry wind.......and poor quality soil. .........don't give up........dreams do come true......maybe you can find the right plants for your area and make your on oasis!
Thank you for the words of encouragement. I know, we have our own unique conditions here too. Humidity and heat being the worst. And yes, our soil is a bit bad at the farm, lots of clay. But persistence pays off, right?
DeleteUnfortunately when I look at it all I see is hours of weeding, dead heading, trimming and clipping. I'll settle for just looking at photos lol.

DeleteIt is beautiful but I have to agree with Delores. As our spring progresses I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the tasks at hand and at the moment the weeds definitely have the upper hand. I looked at that lovely photo and saw all the work involved. Perhaps when I have beaten the garden into submission I will revisit the photo and be able to enjoy it from a different perspective. I do so like you inspiration photos.

DeleteGorgeous. Living in the Phoenix area this is the time to plant, plant, and plant more flowers all the time. Usually, we don't get hit with too much of a frost. And, the beauty continues.
ReplyDeleteLucky you, we do get some light frosts, but of course, thankfully no snow. I never thought about it but that makes sense for you all, you can get your color in the ground now and enjoy until the Summer when it's just so hot and dry.

DeleteOh, I think it's doable! Peggy Martin, or some other monster on the arbor, lots of salvias, nepeta, phlox, iris, annuals....and think fall/winter/spring, with summer as the off season!
