BBQ SAUCE WITH NO HFCS

The other day, I posted here about a dish that we like to throw together really quick.  In the post I mentioned a "high fructose corn syrup free" BBQ sauce.  I think that generated as much interest as the recipe, ha.

So I went to the store and snapped some pics for you...

KC Masterpiece with real sugar
It is KC Masterpiece and it's their 35 anniversary blend.  Notice the tag line on the front of the bottle?  It says "Made with Love and Real Sugar".  Not sure about the love part, ha, but the real sugar is a definite plus.

I snapped a pic of the back ingredients list.  Pretty much all good stuff.  Tomato puree, sugar and molasses as the first three largest ingredients so we're OK with that.  It's not homemade but to find it as a mainstream brand in a regular grocery store is great...so that got us to wondering...

Does anyone have any other HFCS free products from the store they like?  Share in the comments below...

  1. Peter Pan peanut butter! (And yes I will agree that freshly ground peanut butter tastes better and is better for me, but I was thrilled when Peter Pan eliminated HFC from their product.

  2. Woodstock Organic Ketchup! NonGMO verified & USDA Organic.

I've used KC Masterpiece before, but it was a long time ago. I am definitely going to try it again. Thanks to Anne in the Kitchen with the Peter Pan info. I will try that one since most of the organic brands I have tried are not that good. I was always a JIF fan. It takes so much time in the grocery stores these days because I have to read just about every label. It is tiresome. Fortunately, there is an organic market close by where I do most of my shopping. The only problem I have with it is the produce always looks like it needs to be thrown out and they still charge premium for it.

  3. Most of Newman's Own products don't contain HCFS, but double-check because a few do. Also, be aware are beginning to use 'fructose' or 'fructose syrup' rather than the full high fructose corn syrup.

  5. Trader Joe's peanut butter contains just peanuts and salt. Organic valencia peanuts and sea salt. Pretty good stuff.
I also use the Hunts Ketchup. Stubb's BBQ sauce has sugar and molasses no HFCS it is a vinegary type sauce.

  7. I'm so out of the loop!! I'm lucky enough to have lots of homemade tomato sauce, honey and canned jams and jellys...and I'm too lazy to grocery shop or read labels...so I just make up my own BBQ sauce! I am going to use a sweet potato to hold my BBQ pulled pork...lovely, delicious idea. Thanks.
