Some sad news....for those of you that follow or know of "Skippy Mom" (Janine) and her blog "I Make Soap"....her sweet daughter Evelyn reported earlier tonight that her beloved mother passed away on Tuesday.
Janine and I emailed each other often, laughing and yes, even crying a few times. I know she went through some incredible health problems over the years, but she always tried to stay strong and positive If she did get down, she bounced right back, and with her most recent health setback, we all had hoped she would bounce back this time too.
Sadly, it was not to be...
She posted a few times about how much she loved yellow roses...so these are for you sweet SkippyMom...you will be missed. So sorry we never got that chance to meet in person over that cup of coffee and croissant.
Love and hugs to your family and friends,
We'll have some sausage biscuits and gravy for you this weekend...
Here is the link to her blog:
I followed her but intermittently. That is so sad. I know she fought.
ReplyDeleteShe was a fighter for sure. She's out of pain, good for her but sad for us left behind.
Deletemy condolences on the loss of your friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you much...
DeleteSo sad. Proof that our virtual friends are every bit a friend indeed.
ReplyDeleteWe are aren't we? It's amazing how we make these online connections.
DeleteSo sorry for your loss!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI found Skippy in Blogdom years ago. It is a great loss.
ReplyDeleteShe'd been blogging for years. Another voice in blogdom lost before their time.
Deletei am so sorry. i didn't know skippymom but when i lost my bestest blogging buddy SciFiChick - it hurt and it hurt for a long time. make sure to take the appropriate amount of time that you need to grieve your loss. internet friends that we make real and true connections with are no different than "physical" friends. and the loss of either one is real.
ReplyDeletebe kind and gentle to yourself. we are very sorry. sending much love to you both. your friends,
kymber and jambaloney
Thank you much, I remember when she passed and I knew you were in pain. Thank you for the thoughts, you are right, these friends we make online are no different than in person friends. Please know that 2nd Man and I consider you that as well. Hugs to you, thanks!
DeletePerhaps planting a yellow rose in her honour may help with the healing? While your at it, you could plant a different coloured rose for Granny.
ReplyDeleteThank for you that idea. I never thought about that. It's about to get really cold here so my window of time is running out but I think I just might think of a spot for something special like that next Spring. A remembrance garden of sorts. And yes, will not forget dear sweet Granny...
DeleteThere is a yellow rose called "Grandma's Yellow." Could be planted for both.
DeleteI have this rose and it's beautiful and hardy.
