SUNDAY UPDATE

GOOD MORNING!  Sorry about being absent yesterday, we were out and about early, had some errands to run and were on the run all day.  It's been an odd weather weekend, nice in parts of the area, rainy in others.

And at the farm?  Rainy.  Yesterday anyway.

Homemade French Toast
Today is nice.  For now.  But more rain "possibly" coming this afternoon.  So we are running more errands. I'm heading to some garden centers to start the Fall garden planning.

Guess what I'll be doing later this afternoon?  Canning!  Still doing jams and jellies, we want to get those fresh Summer flavors put up for use in the Winter.

2nd Man made us French Toast this morning, it was SO good.  Homemade bread dipped in eggs, milk, vanilla and covered in butter and yummy Pennsylvania maple syrup.

French Toast with Maple Syrup
Hope your weekend is going well!  More later tonight (and I'll catch up on comments).

    3. LOL, y'all crack me up. It was a gift from a very sweet blogging friend (October Farm) and we love it. Now I don't know if there are differences in the various locations, but we like the Pennsylvania maple syrup too! :-)

    5. Mmm, meatballs and pasta, one of my faves). As for maple syrup, maybe the US is sneaking up on Canada to take over the maple industry.... ;-P

  2. Never had French toast before. Maybe it's not popular over here in the UK, I don't know but it looks and sounds delicious.

    1. Really? it's so yummy. Bread, dipped in a mixture of beaten eggs and milk and vanilla and a pinch of salt. You let it soak for just a bit (not too much) and then fry in a skillet.

      Yummy!!

    2. What ... no 2 or 3 Tbsp of cinnamon and a pinch of salt? (we probably use more cin than most ... but we like it!!)

    3. Pinch of salt yes, thanks forgot to mention that. We didn't use cinnamon though, but will next time. We are actually out (we use a lot too, ha!).

  3. My mouth is watering. Maybe my nasty, dry wheat-free bread could benefit from being transformed into French toast and covered in maple syrup.

    1. Thank you. I'd be in trouble if I had to give up gluten, but we do what we have to for our health. Thanks again!!!

  5. bahahhahah! guess what we are having for supper???? yep - you guessed it! french toast! we loooove french toast and only adorn it with jambaloney's stepd-dad's home-made maple syrup. he owns a sugar bush (maple grove) in quebec and he makes the finest, darkest and clearest maple syrup known to man! but with 2nd man's delicious french toast - heck - even aunt jamima would work.

sending love to you both, as always! your friend,
