PERFECT DAY

Today is a gloriously beautiful day!

And for us in this part of the state, it's finally feeling like a REAL first day of Fall.

Highs in the low 80's (sounds warm but no humidtty) and lows in the upper 50's.  It will be a great day at the farm.

Fall garden planting is on the agenda, after a stop at another garden center to look for more fruit tree bargains.  I also need to work on the drip irrigation, edge around the house and barns (for probably the last time this season) and do other cleanup projects in the yard where it's been too hot all Summer.

It's the first of many nice weekends ahead so let the planning start!

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

  3. cold and rainy and damp up here; temps in the low 60s. I put the heat on this week, as my asthma cannot abide the cold and damp.

when do you think you will move to the farm permanently?

    1. The heat on? Sigh...we'll be there eventually, ha. We're still a few years away. our original plan was by 55. For me that's 2 1/2 years. We're thinking it's now about 5 years away. A couple of job changes (one for each of us) pushed it back and we had to delay the sale of the house in town by almost a year which also delayed things.

But hey, that just gives us time to get more stuff done out there (and more time for the fruit trees to grown, LOL!)

  4. High 80s and mid 40s here in Alabama. The humidity is so low that I did not even feel the 100 degree day last week. And, we are in a drought, sort of. It has not rained for so long. There was even a forest fire in Birmingham and evacuations. However, once October is over, the rains will commence and erase any deficit in November and December.

    Have fun planting.

    1. Hasn't it been wonderful? It's our payoff for putting up with our oppressive Summer's, ha. Thank you and I totally forgot about "R" but he's off to TN with "S" for a trip. So I'll wish him well when they get back. :-)
