This was a couple of weeks ago and after the rains...
...squash was coming in again. We've already harvested about eight large squash from this plant but that was about it...
And this time we got four more yellow squash...

Then I decided it was time to pull up the squash plant which was surrounded by the Napa cabbage and give it a change to form. It's doing really well, except that one that was pushed down by the squash leaves, and we should start harvesting them next weekend.
The tomatoes are growing BUT not really producing. Wasn't sure if we'd get Fall tomatoes, I might have started them too late, and now it's too cold. Will pull this up next weekend.

...this basket of mustard greens, collard greens and a bit of curly kale. I see some bacon and greens in our near future! I was riding up in the elevator when I got back into town and a man and woman said I could just drop them off at their apartment, ha.
This Fall gardening is kind of fun! It's our first one and we're just trying to figure out what works best in our climate.
I am proud of you as fall gardening really takes a commitment. I've always been so burned out after the summer harvest to try a fall gardening. Yours looks especially hardy. I see a greenhouse in your future and then you can harvest year round.
ReplyDeleteWell thanks for that. Our summers are so hot I kind of get burned out early and then get excited for the fall, ha. But this is the first so we'll see. A greenhouse? Oh, how I want a greenhouse, ha.

DeleteI envy your great looking fall garden! Our drought decided we would have no fall produce. Oh well, there is always next fall, and spring will be here before I turn around twice.

ReplyDeleteIt's been good so far, it's all a learning curve. And just a few beds, if we had them all growing, we've be knee deep in produce, ha.
DeleteTomatoes will often continue to ripen if you hang the plant upside down in a garage or somewhere similar.

We're fortunate in the late season veggies for sure. Next year I might have to be even more productive!
