Occasionally I like to find two similar pictures but from different perspectives of the city and the farm. Here is a set...
City Sunset |
This is sunset as seen from our balcony in downtown. Always a pretty sight with the twinkling building lights just coming on...
Country Sunset |
And this is the sunset last month at the farm when we spent the night. They both are pretty, in different ways of course, but there is still something about sunset in the country that's just on a completely different level. It's just the sun and the sky.
Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteHere in the country, Without the city lights; we always have such beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
'May Every Sunrise hold more promise, and every sunset hold more peace.'
have a good weekend, men! :)
ReplyDeleteWordsworth always had lots to say about the effect of the city and industrialization on the countryside. Plus, there is "Composed Upon Westminster Bridge, September 3,1802" He sees a scene like yours in the city.
ReplyDeleteit's like the difference between my front porch and my back garden!
ReplyDeleteBoth lovely, but the sky at the farm has my heart today.
ReplyDeleteI think because the country view is unimpeded by man, it is all mother nature, makes it pure and special. That's not to say you can't enjoy a beautiful sunset, or sunrise, in the city. I love twinkling lights or the way the sun reflects of buildings after a storm.
ReplyDeleteHi 1st Man :) I have to say, living in a city for the first 25 years of my life, then living in the mountains...I prefer the second shot :) I remember my days in downtown Montreal, living in a highrise with a view of the city with fond memories, but the mountains are where my heart lies now. The sunrises and sunsets just cannot be beat with a view of the lake and the mountains in the foreground! :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, on both pictures. I used to love the lights going on when I lived in the city. I never felt alone when I thought of other people all preparing for the evening the same way I was. In the country, though, I just love watching the sky get ready for bed.x
ReplyDeleteThey are both pretty. The city is nice because it has the added element of the buildings, so I think a natural landscape is always more pretty...land on it's own. Of course a sunset is most beautiful I think from the beach. I always catch it when I'm there.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful, each in their own way. But the country sunset is so peaceful and natural.
ReplyDeleteBoth are great photos, but I like the second one better, LOL
ReplyDeleteI wish it was live webcam, maybe someday but we'll see. Fingers crossed we capture something (at least something good and not bad, ha).
