Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!
Whatever we have done at the farm with regard to the house, new or remodel, I told 2nd Man I want a front porch like this when we're done, ha. Yes I know it requires regular maintenance but when we're living there full time, that's the kind of thing I would enjoy doing. This is just going to be a reminder of how to balance some flowers and their colors to create a beautiful "welcome home" front entrance, ha.
Be inspired!
Oh, how beautiful and inviting!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pretty? Sure it's watering and upkeep but how it would be worth it to come home to that, ha.
DeleteThat is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat's an appropriate description.. Lovely.
DeleteI am loving the red, white and green boarder!!! Have you looked into what plants those are? Hoping you can do my homework for me!!! HA HA!
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked into it yet but I will. And if anyone wants to chime in, we all want to know, ha.
DeleteVery, very pretty! It just invites you to come in, sit on those beautiful white chairs, and enjoy the beauty on this porch.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Blue Salvia, Dusty Miller, and red Begonias in the flower bed. Blue/Purple petunias with maybe some red geraniums on the railing. Looks like more petunias in pots with maybe yellow daisies on the steps. The hanging baskets look like Trailing/Ivy red Geraniums with white trailing flowers, perhaps Bacopa or Alyssum.
Most of these are annuals, although if we have a mild winter, some will survive. You could easily recreate this kind of look with colorful annuals for each season. Perhaps have a background of taller green perennials.
I knew someone would know. Thank you! It is pretty for sure. Thank you so much!
Deletegorgeous but i'd kill it all in a week. i'm not good at watering!
ReplyDeleteI've always enjoyed watering for some reason. I just need to BE there, ha.
DeleteWhat a pretty Grand entrance that makes. By looking at all them beautiful flowers you can tell first off that the person living there has a love of gardening and that the plants are well cared for.
ReplyDeleteNice porch as well. If it where me and it was my porch, I would have a screened in porch. I just don't like being bothered by all sorts of insects if I want to sit on the porch enjoying a glass of tea or just visiting with a friend or neighbor.
The brick walkway is even super cool.
I told 2nd Man that when we have a new porch, either remodeled or newly built, I'd like a section that is screened. I wouldn't have to be the whole porch, or it could be a spot on the back or side of the house, but that would be nice to have. I didn't think about the brick walkway but that sure does make it look nice too doesn't it? Thanks!!
DeleteThat would have to be the most welcoming porch I have ever seen ! !
ReplyDeleteOnly thing missing is a porch swing
Right? That's what drew me to it when I saw the picture. That's why I post these, to inspire not just us but others. And also to remind me later when I can't remember that "really cool porch picture I saw once upon a time", ha.
