Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!
There are not enough to build a fence, not enough for a brick patio, so that's why have just sort of been left alone. That's why when we saw this online a few weeks ago, we knew right away this would be a good use for the bricks. Easy, looks nice and would not require a huge amount of work. Plus the birds would be happy, that's a win win!

that would ideal for the birds and if you have enough bricks could build more than one. One with a saucer for bird seed, one for water and maybe another to use as plant stands by your porch or placed by your garden entrance, or in front of your shed or even by your bee houses once you get them up and running again.

ReplyDeleteDo you think they are loose or is there mortar holding them together?
ReplyDeleteSure don't look like they used any mortar at all and if they did it was very little (not enough for it to actually hold together for long.)
DeleteNow they might had used something like liquid nails to hold the bricks together in which case in using liquid nails,just be sure the bricks are cleaned and clean of dust.

ReplyDeleteI have a few bird baths and trailing plants mounted on tall upturned ceramic or cement pots that were cheap from the damaged (cracked or chipped) section of the local plant nursery.
