MAC AND CHEESE UTENSIL FOOD DEBATE

It's time for the "Friday Food Debate" where we tackle some of the burning questions of the culinary world...LOL!

This week, the burning question is:

Mac and cheese...perhaps nature's most perfect food item.  Sigh.  It's among my most favorite things.  I like it ANY way it's cooked.  But for this debate day, I did some Googling and found that there is a debate about this wonderful dish.  And that is what do you use to eat it?

Apparently there are two schools of thought.  Some people use a fork to spear the noodles and eat it up.

Others use a spoon to get the noodles and every last bit of cheesy goodness.

According to an online poll we saw, 72% use a fork.  The rest use a spoon.  In our house it's mostly a fork.  In the interest of full disclosure though, our set of flatware included SPORKS!  Yep, we have nice, stainless steel sporks to eat with if we choose.
But let's not include that in this debate.

So...how do you do mac and cheese?
Fork or spoon?

  1. Fork, you have to just dig in and poke/ stab them noodles. Can't stab them noodles with a spoon

  2. Fork for sure. Spoon is for ice-cream and soup.

  3. spoon holds a bigger load ... and most does not fall off ..... plus I like the grade-school lunch kind that's really creamy ... so spoon it is!!

  4. Spoon. Always a spoon. You want every drop of that golden good cheese. Using a fork is for pussies.

  5. Start with fork. If I don't manage it all end up with spoon!

  6. Sometimes I start with the fork and use spoon to get the good stuff. Sometimes, I just put it in a bowl and use a spoon.

  7. I have always used a spoon and others think I'm weird but I spoon it from beginning to end. Janie V

  8. In my house we use those fat straws to suck up the little noodles, slurp slurp, makes it so much more enjoyable! Ok, I'm teasing, mostly a fork but sometimes a spoon, especially if I put homemade pasta sauce on top.

  9. Who cares as long as you can get the last bit of cheesy goodness with your finger when you've eaten all the noodles. 😁

  10. In public I use a fork, but if I'm alone and it's comfort food, I use a spoon.

  11. Well, it really depends upon how creamy the mac 'n' cheese is, doesn't it? If the cook has been miserly with the cheese, a fork will do. If Velveeta was on sale, then you'll probably need a spoon.
