An amazing woman.
An amazing life.
An amazing legacy.
Among her many fights for justice, equality, anti-discrimination, women's rights, voting rights, environmental issues etc, were it not for her vote (and four others) five years ago, we wouldn't be able to be married right now.
Thank you Justice Ginsburg.
Voting has consequences that can last long beyond four years. The effects can last for a generation or more.

A great loss, a great person, and a great champion for equality. About her legacy, she said, "To make life a little better for people less fortunate than you, that's what I think a meaningful life is. One lives not just for oneself but for one's community."
ReplyDeleteA great loss. I really fear for our country if tRump's nomination is confirmed. So many gains for so many people will be lost with conservative majority.

ReplyDeleteHopefully more republicans will step forward and honor her "fervent" request to not fill her seat and let the new president pick the new justice.

I didn't realize that when her husband was ill, she attended both her own law classes and his (so she could take notes for him).

ReplyDeleteThere is a fairly recent movie about her that is quite good ... I believe it's called: On the Basis of Sex Worth a look if it's available... am guessing if not currently, Netflix or Prime will be pulling it and getting it up soon.
