SOUTHERN BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS AND HOBART

I awoke to this...

2nd Man made a pan full of biscuits.  Side note, we now just call his Lodge sheet pan the "biscuit pan" ha.

And what better way to top that off some homemade biscuits than with some sausage gravy.

It's the "Southern breakfast of champions"!

Hobart would approve of good food, but he's currently on a "post catnip high" and sleeping...

  8. I think that is my mother in law's favorite breakfast though I doubt she has had it in a long time. I think I need to look for your biscuit recipe. Lately mine have not been rising well. Might be the white whole wheat flour I'm using.

    1. Looked back at your recipe for biscuits and I think I'll try adding the folding step to my recipe the next time before abandoning the recipe.

  9. Wow, those are the prettiest biscuits I've ever seen! I'm not a sausage gravy fan, but those biscuits with some butter and honey? Making my mouth water!

How does 2nd Man get the tops so perfectly golden? Any possibility he would share his recipe? I'm a really good cook not much into baking, but my hubby loves to bake. Maybe a Lodge pan is in his future! LOL

Oh, and we just made an AH-mazing shortcut apple crumble using store-bought cinnamon rolls for the bottom. Simple to make but fabulous. A 9x13 pan only lasted the two of us 2 days having it for dessert, breakfast, and snacks. Anyone interested in my sharing the rcipe? I found it on Pinterest and can direct folks to her recipe and list my changes.
