FLOWERS BEES AND BREAD

Our Vitex bushes are in full bloom and the flying critters love them and wee enjoy watching.  Bees and butterflies (tried to get a few in a picture but they didn't come out).

There are regular honey bees of course but we also love the large bees that frequent the flowers.

This is a carpenter bee...

And this is a bumblebee.  Love the fuzzy nature of these bumblebees.  They look like stuffed animals, ha!

Hope you are having a good weekend.  It's rainy on and off again.  More on that tomorrow.

Yesterday, 2nd Man made some white bread...

...and this morning we had some as toast.  It's always so good, crispy and toasty on the outside and still soft inside.  Toast with a little butter is so good.

It's almost a comfort food.

As we post this, it's starting to rain again.  Sigh.

  1. My bushes are beginning to bloom as well.
Making homemade bread makes the whole place to smell absolutely divine. Toasted, homemade bread with homemade jam............Yummy.
I think I could almost eat a whole loaf, toasted, but my hips wouldn't like it so much.
Have a wonderful evening and enjoy the races

    1. "J" from 2nd Family told us to come down the other day and "listen" to her bee tree. There is a tree with flower blooms of some sort and you stand under it and it's literally humming. So awesome.

Mmm, that homemade bread looks wonderful. A delicious comfort food, for sure.
We caught a break from the rain today. I’ve been recording the amounts of rain since all the rain started 3 weeks ago and I got 15.75 inches total. Lotta water!

  5. There are lots of bees around the few flowers on the porch. I could eat buttered toast for dessert.
