GOOD FOOD AND HOBART TIME CHANGE SUNDAY

This has been a beautiful weekend of great weather.  We've been enjoying it as much as possible.  Got a lot of small projects done at the farm (more on that in upcoming posts).  Adrian worked on a new recipe that we may end up having for Thanksgiving.

It's a casserole made of dressing and chicken and then topped with a meat gravy...sort of all the flavors together in one dish.  We'd do it with turkey of course for Thanksgiving.  More on that in a recipe post once he gets it the way he wants it, ha.

OK, here is a fun picture of Hobart.

The skull?  It was one of my trash to treasure finds just a few days ago.  Someone put some halloween decorations in a box and while most of them were not anything we wanted or could use, this skull was a keeper.  Made of a heavy resin with a jaw that moves and I couldn't pass that by.  I might need to paint it up for next year's Day of the Dead decorating.  When I put it on the table, Hobart got up there and laid next to it.  That was a picture moment for sure.

Hope you are having a great weekend and enjoying your "extra hour" today.  Saw this and thought it was funny.  My extra hour was absorbed into my sleep, ha.

  5. I make something like that dish, but I will wait until he perfects it...lol. That picture is one I would enlarge and cheaply frame for other Halloweens. It is pretty with the white skull next to the black cat. Wonderful.

    1. Another compliment for the picture. I guess the lighting was just perfect and everything lined up. This casserole was pretty perfect but yeah when he's done I'll get the recipe and post it with pictures.

  6. Hobart and his skull look good together. That chicken and dressing dish looks yummy. I look forward to getting the perfected recipe because it would be something different to prepare for Sweet Cheeks. I know he'd like it.

    1. It was a great picture for this time of year. Oh he's happy, he just gets annoyed when I try to take his picture, or maybe he just knows he looks good and he's tired of showing off for the camera, HA!!!!! Thanksgiving is coming soon.

  8. Hobart; how photogenic you are.
2nd Man; your meal looks Fantastic.
Ok; 1st Man, I take it that you take most of the food pictures that 2nd Man makes. If so, they All look so appealing. My thoughts; you need to take up cookbook photography. All the food pictures that you take could be good enough to be pictured in a cookbook.
Maybe, when 2nd Man decides to do a cookbook featuring all his favorite recipes, you will be right there taking all the pictures. Would make for a wonderful keepsake.

    2. Great reminder of the smoke detector batteries. Thanks for the pictures idea. I've actually thought about something like a book of pictures of our food.
