Here is another one of my Christmas gifts. 2nd Man found this great hat for me.
It's got a wide brim and the part that your head goes into is ventilated. There is even a drawstring to hold it in place on windy days.
The cool part is on the back, it has this long, wide flap that completely covers the neck and upper shoulders. 2nd Man always worries because I get the back of my neck sunburned while mowing or working outside.
Of course, when I first put it on, I was reminded of this classic scene from Titanic:
OK so I won't be THIS fabulous while working outside at the farm but I'll give it a try! 😂😂
😆 You will certainly amuse the neighbors if you get that head movement down, but you'll be looking darned cute doing it or absolutely ridiculous! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou got some great gifts!
HA!!! I told 2nd Man man this and he was laughing. He hadn't seen my post but when I put it on at Christmas after I opened it I played the theme from Titanic on my phone, ha.
DeleteMy husband has one similar without the neck/shoulder coverage. He loves that hat. He said it really does help him stay cool while mowing. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI hope so. I may actually put it on this weekend while I'm doing some stuff. No mowing (grass is VERY dormant after our 14 degree temp).
DeleteI need one of those hats for my hair coverage. Sun is not kind to hair. I am sure you will enjoy that and avoid skin damage and/or cancer.
ReplyDeleteThanks, that's what 2nd Man is always worried about for me.
DeleteThis is just perfect for your Zen Machine time and working in the garden and orchard. It will keep you from becoming a “redneck”!
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen construction workers and other outside workers hang a handkerchief from under the back of their cap for this same purpose. Your hat is definitely more stylish!
It's big enough to shade all of my face and head and of course cover the neck.
DeleteHey, if you're going to be mowing; you might as well mow in style. The mowing days will be here before you know it.
ReplyDeleteNow, if only I could get my husband to wear his hat.
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks, we can always be stylish while we work outside. Grass is still dormant, thankfully but you're right, it's coming soon enough.
DeleteIf I'm not mistaken, that hat may be from the company Sunday Afternoons. I have several of their wide brimmed hats which I love...protect the neck and don't blow off. They were a small Oregon business in the 1990s, now they are online. Enjoy your hat.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, thanks for that. I don't remember for sure (it's at the farm) but I'll check this weekend. That sounds familiar. Nice to know if it is. Thank you!
