THE HOUSE IS GONE

 We'll have another post soon with lots of pics before and after from various angles (including some unique shots!) but since many of you have asked how it went, we're keeping this first post quick and to the point, ha.

It's the end of an era for the little farmhouse.  It had a great run, but it was time to make our future dreams come true...

Here it is right after we bought it...

Here it is Wednesday morning...

Going...

Going...

Gone!

Instead of being sad, we're thinking of what will grow from this spot.  Just like planting a seed and waiting for a beautiful flower to bloom, we'll be waiting for our new home to rise up from this very spot.

The future awaits!

    1. It was cute for sure, in it's prime it was really neat but just so much in the last few years that needed to be fixed up. It was definitely time and yes, shocking to see. I told 2nd Man several times it looked like a tornado had gone through.

      Utility room is tomorrow's tour, ha.

  4. A little bit of nostalgia is okay, but a whole lot of looking forward to a beautiful house rising on the spot is great. I cannot wait to see the replacement.

    1. Yes, we totally understand. It's been a great little house for a long time, and it lived a good long life. We tried to justify pouring money into it to get it fixed up so we could live there full time but it was just so much money that we decided would be better spend on brand new so we could truly get the house of our dreams. So yep, bigger and better for sure, coming soon!

    1. Couldn't have said it better. We have a picture of our house we sold a few years ago that we made look old (sepia tone) and framed it, we're going to do the same with this one. Let the new memories begin!

  9. Did you save a window or two & take the glass panes out to decorate with? So popular now...and maybe a nice memory for you.

    1. We did same some pieces of wood for some future projects. The windows were all replaced right before we bought it, just aluminum frame inexpensive windows, nothing fancy that would make for a good project, ha. I did save the doorknobs and we have one door we saved that "Ma" (the previous owner) had on her pantry, I'll do something fun with that. We also did have a guy come and strip out what he could use, lights, ceiling fans, the sink, etc, so that was good.

  10. Hopefully you saved some of that old wood and have someone make you a nice sign for you to hang above or beside your entry door or a sign to hang in your kitchen area;
    ' New beginnings, making new memories'.

  11. With The Build starting soon, it’s a good thing that this winter is forecast to be drier and warmer than usual.
