I haven't blogged in awhile about anything cool that I've found for the farm so indulge me why I rattle on about these awesome bottles I found!
A while back, I blogged HERE about some other great bottles I found to use for milk and juice. What we were lacking though were bottles for water.
I remember that both of my Grandmothers always kept water in glass bottles in the fridge. It seemed to be the coldest water ever. So the other day, I was at my weekly lunch break store, Marshall's Homegoods, and I found these!
We LOVE them because they are so retro looking. They are also made of a nice, heavy glass with tops that easily snap closed, and what is most retro of all...
...they have these indention's to make it easy for your hand to grab them and pick up! I swear, I think one of the bottles I remember from visiting my Grandparents had the exact same thing.
You know we have a fondness for things that are "green" when we can find them, and these fit that bill as well...they are handmade of recycled glass.
Of course, I bought three of them and went home. 2nd Man said "why didn't you buy more?", ha. So I went back and found only one more. But we should still have enough for water in the fridge and then putting it on the table for guests or outside under the (future) dining tree.

These are VERY cool!!!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Aren't they great? Loved the moment I saw them. :-)
DeleteI recently bought a glass water bottle to replace the ones I carry in the car. I think everything tastes better in glass, except a Moscow Mule!
ReplyDeleteEverything does taste better in class huh? I'll admit, I had to google Moscow Mule. Had never heard of it but it sure sounds delicious.
DeleteOooh, they are pretty! We use (very) old Perrier bottles to keep water in the fridge, not half so nice looking!

Hey, I love repurposing neat looking bottles. Have used Perrier bottles as well. :-)
DeleteI think that is a SUPER idea! I may look for some, too!
ReplyDeleteThey had lots if you have a Marshalls or Marshalls Home Goods near you.
Delete1st Man,
ReplyDeleteI love your bottles, we do the same with a glass picture. Fill the pitcher with filtered water and place it in the refrigerator. Sometimes if I get a little crazy, I'll place fresh fruit in the water or cranberries from the freezer. It's very refreshing to have cold water without ice.
OOOH, I love the idea of fresh fruit....love it! There wis something about glass in the fridge it just seems to be even colder than the fridge temp. I'm sure there is some scientific principle behind it, ha.
DeleteGreat bottles!
ReplyDeleteCool huh? They really do remind me of some old old bottles my grandparents always had in the fridge.
