As usual, I was at lunch, roaming around the store (Walmart) and I stumbled across these jars:
Of course, I had to have them for my canning jar collection so I bought one set of each size they have available.
Since my pictures are still in the packages, I found this on the ball website to show you a little clearer.
They were created for the our Nation's 250th birthday celebration this year. They are really neat with embossed stars all over them and a really cool red/white/blue lid. Of course, now I'm wondering, since the lids aren't reusable, will they have a special package of them for sale separately? Or maybe just ALSO sell special lids for this year only.

Those are so cool. I’ll be on the lookout for them. Great idea for Ball to also sell the special edition lids.
ReplyDeleteI store so much of my pantry items in glass jars, so these would be a great addition to my supply of jars.
I don't know if you've seen the Bell jars that narrow at the bottom so they can be stacked inside each other? They fit the hand rather like a drinking glass.
ReplyDeleteI use then for my hummingbird nectar and Iced tea (after I've brewed A pot), as I don't preserve jams or veggies.
Oh my gosh! I LOVE the jars. If I wasn't ready to dish up dinner, I might just be jumping in the car to head to WalMart! Hmmmm....I'm thinking I might need to get some to gift to some friends! Thanks for the info....and what a surprise to learn that my blog is on your side bar!
ReplyDeleteI like the three dimension stars ... i always like 3 dimension "stuff" ... probably why I like cut glass ... anyhow very cool find and I'm voting you go get more just cause of the coolness factor.
