One of my "gardening dreams" at the farm is to have a cutting garden.
You can't beat having access to fresh flowers 24/7.
When I saw this online, I immediately thought this was so awesome. I can't really say ours would be this big, not sure I have that in me, ha. But I DO love the part right in the foreground, the two long beds, with the gravel path in between, and a climbing fence on once side. Very pretty and a great design.
It makes it convenient to go grab some fresh flowers.

Yeah, two beds like that with a path down the middle would be nice. I think that's what appealed to me when I saw it, it seemed "orderly", ha.

DeleteI have found that a smaller cuting garden works great for me. I got overwhelmed with a really large ones and I recommend zinnia and sunflowers just becaus ei have found them easy to grow.

Yep, I'm thinking smaller is better too, ha. My grandmother used to grow Zinnia's, I love them, they are so pretty. Haven't ever tried sunflowers, might have to do that sometime.

DeleteI want a cutting garden too!! We have some beautiful peonies and poppies, but I'd like to plant a whole bunch of dinner-plate dahlias too. And sunflowers of all colors and sizes! :)
ReplyDeleteThere is just something magical about a cutting garden isn't it? Not to mention actually using it as it is and putting fresh flowers all over your house. Oh, we love Dahlia's so pretty.
