INSPIRATION THURSDAY, OLD POTTING SHED

Wow, I could just stare at this picture all day long.  I've always wanted little space, perhaps a potting shed, perhaps a craft building, perhaps just a place to escape to and enjoy some quiet time.  I saw this picture while randomly surfing online for photos and oh my, it is SO exactly what I pictured in my head as what would be perfect for what I'd want.

I love the re purposed/reclaimed nature of the materials, the shape of the old windows, the roof, the old fence, the flowers, the bushes, the French doors...sigh, I love every single part of this.  It almost looks like a little chapel.  It's not of course, it's supposed to be a gardening shed.  But wow, how I adore this little building.  It's definitely going on the farm bucket list.

See you back here tomorrow!

  1. I love it, but....I would have to get out the paint brush. Really, I'm the type that has to have even the old look fresh and new! Love, love, love the little garden in front, and the bird bath. I wouldn't paint that. :-)

    1. Paint brush? I think that's what I like most about it, ha. But I can see it with a pretty fresh coat of white too. Aren't those flowers and plants in the little garden just awesome??

  3. I have to disagree with Granny (sorry!) but I love love the peeling paint, it adds so much character, like it's been there a hundred years. It would be cool I suppose if you can put on new paint that looked like that, or maybe cover the peeling paint with some sort of protector so it would stay that way. haha. I agree too about the flowers and bushes and plants, those are awesome too.

    1. I hear ya, as I said to Granny, I like the peeling, but I understand some people might like it fresh and clean. I think it would still be very pretty 'cleaned up'. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. That is a charmer. Love the garden planting around it. I could do that with the shed I have except I'd never see it. It's a storage shed in the back not visible from any windows in the house. I asked if it could be moved because when we placed it there I really thought the veg garden would be nearby but that didn't make any sense because it wouldn't be visible either. I really should plant more around it. Maybe I will ... one day.

    1. Yep, that's me too. At the farm, the two small storage buildings/sheds are way in the back corner and behind the house. They were put there by the previous owner so I'll just leave them for now and put a new one in the front, where I can see it....and decorate it...someday. ha.

    1. Yes, isn't it? Actually reminds me of something from over in your neck of the woods! So wonderful. Heck, I'd go in there and throw a pallet on the floor and take a nap! ha.

  6. No reason you can't consider it a chapel - what brings you closer to God than gardening? :)

  7. It looks like it might of been one of those by the road small chapels at one time. It has Goathic (sp.) windows. In our area there is a small chapel just a little bigger that people have even been married in. I had a play house in the back yard when we moved in. I had my brother raise the roof and make a greenhouse for me. My husband has taken it over and it so full of stuff. I clean it to no avail, but I am glad he has a hobby he likes. Your property would look great with that on it. Scout out old barns , places people are tearing down and ask for the wood; it would give that rustic feel.I really like the picture thands for sharing.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. It could have been huh? I could totally see a cross up on top. It just so adorable. Sorry your building was 'taken over', ha. Great idea to scope out old barns. "Ma", the previous occupant of the farm, used to talk about looking for barn wood. Thanks for stopping by!! Please come back and visit.
