THRIFT STORE SILVER TRAY HAS A HOME

The silver plated thrift store tray I blogged about HERE has a new home!

It's on the coffee table in the living room at the farm, and looks exactly as I had hoped.  Sort of shabby chic/casual.

Now I need to figure out what to put on it.  Seems like everything I put on it took away from the beauty of the tray.  There is the obligatory tea service but again, I put some china tea cups on there, and it just didn't look right.  Then I put a glass dish on there but being clear, it sort of just blended in with the silver.  Not sure what other options there are.

Any suggestions?

  2. I also was going to suggest candles, and maybe a pot of trailing ivy. Maybe silk, since you're not there all the time, and there might not be enough light for a live plant. This is exactly the kind of thing I could spend hours fiddling over!

    1. Candles are a great idea. Ha, you sound like me, I can spend hours moving stuff around, putting this with that and then moving that over with something else, ha. Thank you!!

  8. It looks really great there! You have such a knack for finding the perfect home for everything. I don't have any advice for what to put on it, but I think something in a jewel tone would contrast nicely and stand out against the silver.

    1. Great suggestion, and thanks for the kind words (as ALWAYS). That's a good idea, that's what I want is something that either blends with the silver (more silver?) or contrasts nicely. I'll work on it over the next few weeks.
