Those of you that follow the blog know that I have a penchant for naming some of the trees on our property. "Barnabas the Party Tree" and "The Two Sisters" were the most recently named trees.
A couple of weekends ago, I was walking the property and noticed this tree. In the Spring and most of the Summer, it is covered with leaves so that you can't really see its shape. But now, with Winter rapidly approaching, most of the leaves have dropped off and that has revealed this shape. When I looked at it from this angle, it reminded me of a dancer, quite graceful in it's growth, with her arms outstretched.
So henceforth (I love that word!), this tree shall be known as;
"GINGER" (after Ginger Rogers of course)
Decidedly a female. Another tree that I would love to have in my yard, all of my trees(just 6) are straight, no lovely lines at all. Lucky you. Course you do live in Texas and thus need some compensation for the LONG, HOT HOT springsummerfall. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYep, female for sure. I wouldn't mind some regular straight trees too. Well, we do have a few think. The Two Sisters are straight and tall (not sure what kind of trees they are). Yes, we have a LONG HOT Spring Summer and Fall. You must have been here at some point, ha.

Deletei name our trees too...and i love your newest one's name, as well as the other two! trees are wonderful things to have - they are good for birds to roost in and they are really good to hug. i try to hug several trees every day - i think that's what makes me feel so good. make sure to hug yours every time you visit, eh - promise?

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm a tree hugger from way back and darn proud of it. I talk to Barnabas all the time, ha. I'll give them all a hug for you. :-)
