VINTAGE POSTER SUNDAY, EAT VITAMIN DONUTS

Vintage Eat Vitamin Donuts poster, courtesy of US National Archives
Now this poster is definitely interesting.  This came about during the time that they began "enriching" flour in products.  Of course, where did they start?  Making donuts and pushing them off on kids as healthy!  What?

Sure, lets start all kids off with donuts for breakfast or lunch, ha.  It gives them "pep and vigor".  And probably gives their parents a headache, ha.

Still, an interesting glimpse into our past.

Hope you are having a great weekend.  It's been cold and windy here, at least yesterday it was, hoping today is warmer and calmer.

  1. Wild, Ray... I often inwardly chuckle when hearing various people speak about the 'healthy' foods. I do enjoy chewy breads though!

    1. I just realized I missed all of these comments (it was that crazy weekend). It is kind of crazy huh? You'd definitely never see that today, today they would 'hide it' under sugar and fat and everything else.

    1. I say we print these out and keep them in our wallets and purses so we can have a 'healthy donut' every once in awhile, ha.

  4. Love this! The scary thing is I seriously could eat a dozen donuts in one sitting. They just melt like buttah!

    1. Oh my gosh, you and me both. We have a local chain in Houston that is just SO good. I'd eat a dozen if I could, ha. .
