2nd Family's horse, Artax, has a fondness for carrots, unbeknownst to me. Apparently ,"Ma" who lived there before us, used to give her carrots as a treat. So a couple of weeks ago, I had some carrots at home in town and I decided to take them to the farm. I gave a couple to her and she loved them. Then the next time I was out, I gave her a couple more and an apple.
This weekend, when I went out, I brought a couple more carrots. Artax now gallops to the back corner of the fence when she sees me drive down the driveway and she stands there and waits for me. It I take too long, she stomps her front legs. The picture above was when she was staring me down, sending those ESP vibes "BRING ME CARROTS...BRING ME CARROTS..."
So I did, and snapped the pic below as she was chowing down on them.

Now, I will apparently need to keep a supply at the farm.
She has your number now, LOL, you need to start a carrot patch and plant an apple tree or two. She is beautiful.

DeleteHorses love pears, too. I agree that now you have to plant something for horse treats. Animals will have a person trained shortly. "Good guy. Good guy. You brought treats." smooch

DeleteOh dear. Now you're making a monster of your neighbor's animal, just like the monsters I made of my neighbor's dogs! I now keep a large plastic container of the dog cookies on my back patio, because I know I'll always have anywhere from one to four pairs of eyes pleading with me from the other side of the fence. They have me well trained :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my Granny, when I was looking at the fence and saw her staring at me, I TOTALLY thought of you and those adorable doggies lined up waiting for their cookie treats! Too funny. I'll have to make sure we have a bag of carrots out there all the time.

ReplyDeleteYep, I think we're on the hook now, ha. Fortunately, there is a grocery store on the way to the farm that we stop at for "people food" so I'll have some new things to add to the shopping list, ha.

DeletePlease make sure you break the carrots into pieces! And cut apples in half before you give them to her.
