VINTAGE POSTER SUNDAY, I'LL CARRY MINE TOO

WWII and saving engines and rubber!  Encouraging people to walk by reminding everyone in this poster that "Trucks and Tires Must Last Till Victory".

Many posters from the time urged recycling and this was just another step in that direction, urging things to be saved before they wore out.

Wouldn't it be amazing if today they had similar campaigns?  Of course, I wonder how many would actually follow it.

Hope you are having a great weekend, yesterday ended up nice after the wet start and today when we got up, it was crisp and cool and amazingly beautiful.  When this posts, I'll be at the farm checking some projects off the list.

More later this afternoon!

  1. Very interesting poster but, as you say, a similar campaign nowadays would be impossible. This reminds me of sandals we bought 20 years ago made of a rubber-like material. They are still in excellent shape even if we wear them everyday as slippers. They were made in China of course, but you could not buy them now. The Chinese have long realized that you don't make things to last that long. Obviously things could be made to last.

    1. You know, that is so right. There was a time when I think that made in China was not such a bad thing. So very true. Sad, but true....

  2. For a few years I have been saying that rationing should be in place for many things. I would be willing!

    1. Amen, I think rationing could be a good thing...but I'm sure many people would just freak out and say we're turning communist or socialist or something, ha. If it's for the good of all, I don't understand why it's disliked. I guess we need a 'war' to make it alright, ha.

  3. 1st Man,

It would be great if we had similar type posters. You won't have everyone supporting recycle but you sure will have the preppers and homesteads recycling.

    1. It would wouldn't it? Heck maybe that's a great angle to take direct it TO those of us that are trying to prepare and recycle and have our own self sufficient homesteads. Great thinking!!!
