DUPLO LEGO BIG FARM

After yesterday's Persimmon Fail post, I thought we should post something fun.  Recently, we needed to get a gift for 2nd Man's Grand Nephew, who is now 3 yrs old.  (Aww, he's just a little guy).  His Mom told us he loves to build things and so we immediately thought of Lego's.  Of course he's too young for regular Lego's but they do make DUPLO for the younger crowd.

When we went to the store, we saw this and fell in love with it.

Duplo Big Farm Set
It's the Lego Duplo Big Farm set.  It has a farmhouse and chickens and cows and a horse and a barn and all sorts of farm related things.

While we were standing in the long line (this was a couple of weeks before "Black Friday") we had time to kill and so we made the observations below:

Duplo Farm set
We could give everything a name based on our own farm, LOL!  (told you we had too much time on our hands).

We got ours at the local Target but of course, it can be purchased at Amazon by clicking on this link: DUPLO LEGO Ville 10525 Big Farm

Hopefully, he'll enjoy it!  And if you have a little one in your family to buy for and you have a farm or rural place, this would be a really cute gift.

Christmas is coming soon, now time to find something else!

  1. Maybe you guys could take a picture of each other, then cut and paste the pics onto to cardboard so they can stand and add them to the package?

  4. That's cute. I think you should take a permanent marker and write the names for each creature on the box. I kept my kids' Legos (they number in the many thousands) just in case I have a grandchild to play with them.

    Love,
    Janie

  5. Every kid loves lego be it boy or girl or young or old. We buy my son (11) lego every year and just yesterday we purchased this years present. The older he gets the more involved the sets are which means dad has to help. I can tell by his face that it's no chore. Great father/son time too.

    1. So so true. I love that Dad helps, and I bet Dad had his own when he was young. I loved my legos. I think they are still in storage, somewhere. Your son is very lucky!

  6. I recently bought my nearly 4 year old grandson his Lego Christmas present at Target when they had 20 per cent off. It is very popular now probably because of the movie.
Mind you it does not date.

    1. It doesn't get old does it? The pieces I had 40 years ago will still click with the new pieces (though they have really NEAT stuff now, ha). And that movie was great! We just watched it recently.

    1. Aww, thanks. It really is cute and it's a nice big set. Duplo is for the little ones so it would be a great starting thing to expand on as they get older. Be prepared, we boys love legos! ;-)

  9. My son, now 46, never had Duplo or lego, but he loved farm animals, tractors, everything. We had lots of sets that he put together. The soldiers set, farm set, construction set were all set up with the school bus and children. We had a huge living room and den where he filled the hardwood floors with a thousand tiny pieces, usually everything he owned. Much of his stuff was metal, not plastic. I was steadier on my feet back then and could hop around after I stepped on something. Now, I would just fall down. . Oh, I forgot, he had a Matchbox cars, so we had a highway, too. Of course, his car wash and garage were there for the traffic. He played with all of it when he put it all out. Oh, he just used blocks for the buildings when he did not have a barn.

    1. You have the best memories to share. Thanks! Sounds like he has some great memories as well. I do remember my Mom having to jump over my stuff spread out. Oh and matchbox cars, so much fun...I think I parked mine in front of lego buildings I built and drove them around little 'cities', ha.

  10. My comment is a bit "off subject" for your post today but I saw this article and immediately thought of you and your recent post about having a "scarecrow". Evidently, technology has invaded the scarecrow field along with everything else in our world :) So how about a "Robocrow" for your garden? LOL!

    1. No worries, we love when readers give us links to things. And wow, robocrow, that is TOO cool. I wonder if you could put clothes on it? HA! Thanks for the link, might have to blog about that.

  11. That is such a great toy set and a perfect gift from y’all. I like how you can relate all the items to the Farm and y’all’s animals. The nephew will love it!
