FLOWER GARDEN, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Flower garden bed, image via PINTEREST
Since we decided to focus on adding color to the farm this Spring/Summer instead of veggies CLICK HERE to read about that if you missed it, we are looking online for inspiration.  We found this and just love the pop of multicolor in this photo.  It's so neat the way it is just a grouping like this, not lined up in a neat row, not in a dedicated bed, instead it's just a spot where they planted a bunch of flowering plants (side note, I love the pasture behind but I digress).

Hope you are having a great day. Today, I'm taking another 1/2 day for 'bee check'.  I swear I have the greatest boss ever..."Hey, would it be OK if I took a half day off to go check on the bees?  Sure, sounds fine!"

I hope to also get the edging done before the weekend, it's supposed to be clear and beautiful and best of all, dry!

Be inspired...

    1. Isn't it amazing how color just changes everything? Now you do have beautiful foliage colors and textures, we just seem to have all green. I like green, but want this, ha.

  3. We are doing another raised hill flower garden. We learned from last year that we need more soil than we thought. Ours flattened out too much and was taken over by grass. We have 2 huge globe trees that will be moved from the front to the back. They are taking over the front bed! They will be our green in the winter. The flowers will go around them. The swingset will be sold as the girls are too big for it now:( This area will be for kicking soccer balls around. Happy spring!

  4. That's a gorgeous display of color and texture! I love the sheep and the pasture in the background.
All this scene needs is a bench so it can be enjoyed at leisure. And the Bach music "Sheep May Safely Graze."

    1. Ha, I hear ya. Yes my boss is indeed very generous of course, I did use vacation time but it was still short notice and he was still ok with it. Of course, I'll have to make sure a jar of honey goes his direction, ha.

  8. That's a gorgeous flower bed!! We have two pine trees in the backyard with individual flower beds around them. The landscaping timers are starting to rot and we are thinking about making it one large flower bed. We might need more shade loving plants, but that's some great inspiration right there.

    1. Isn't it? I wish I could just go get all the plants, stick them in the ground and have it look like this? Ha. But I'm patient, I can wait, at least I think I can.
