AND IT BEGINS AGAIN

Well, here we go again...

Pouring rain today, though it comes and goes.  We are also under Flash Flood watches and now, to top it all off, there is a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico that could very well be heading this direction mid week as either just  heavy rain or a full fledged tropical storm.

As one weather forecaster said last night, "I hate to say this but we could be looking at a repeat of the Memorial Day flood event over the next few days".

Needless to say, stuck in town again this weekend (though if it lets up a bit, might try a visit tomorrow to check on things).  Thank goodness I was able to mow and edge last weekend or else we might have been looking at renting a herd of goats to graze 24/7, ha.

Hope your weekend is off to a better start!

  1. Good grief! Did you get your order off for the ark plans yet?

How devastating this weather has been for your state. Safe wishes for everyone affected by this extremely wet weather. Wouldn't it be ever so helpful if the rains could be directed to the areas most in need of them? Worldwide!

    1. LOL, I've thought about googling how to build an ark, ha. Thanks, oh yes, it would be so nice if we could move it around to the places that need it.

    1. Yep, it's that time of year. Hope this isn't a sign of an active season. Y'all keep an eye out for it as well. Corpus is in the crosshairs too.

  4. 1st Man,

Were expecting the same weather. Last night the western part of Oklahoma had tornadoes.
I'm starting to build a new ark just in case, lol...... Stay safe and dry!

    1. I hope so too, but alas, I think we're in for some crazy rains. Parts of our area got 6 inches of rain today. More tomorrow and then tropical trouble next week. sigh.

What's left of my vegetable garden after the last deluges will be wiped out now. And so much of my baby fruit got knocked/blown off the trees in the last rains :(

    1. Dang, I know it was REALLY heavy today down your direction. I think we had about an inch here in town and at the farm. But it looks like we've got some bad rains coming this week if that tropical depression comes this way.

    1. Oh we have had so much. It's crazy this year. Normally we get these rains in relation to tropical things but this year we got it with just thunderstorms and now we have tropical activity.

  11. I hope y'all will be out of the path of the storms (both city and farm). Stay safe, TRY not to fret about things (easier said than done) and know you have a whole bunch of people thinking of y'all :)

  13. As someone that worked as a professional pilot for 20 plus years - those are some very ugly clouds (for lack of a better term) and not typical. That's the kind of stuff we'd fly around and not through if we could help it. I hope you don't have a repeat of the Memorial Day storms and you both will be in my thoughts and prayers.
