SUNSET IS THE ULTIMATE STRESS RELIEVER

Fiery sunset
Was looking at some photos I had taken and found these.  This was the sunset at the farm a few weeks back when I had to drive back out there on a Sunday evening because I forgot my wallet.  Yep, drove all the way back into town, 45 miles one way, stopped to fill up with gas for the week, and realized I had left my wallet on the dresser at the farm...

It was frustrating to say the least.  I certainly can't go all week driving back and forth to work without that, so I turned around and drove back out there.

Nothing like a 90 mile round trip for one small thing that was your own fault.  But me, never one to let a moment slip by, decided to stay for a bit and watch the sunset.  The last time we were out there at sunset, it was very cloudy.
Above was the view from the porch and below is the view from the back of the house.  It certainly made all the stress of the day go away and reminded me of why we bought the property in the first place.

It just doesn't compare to the city, that's for sure...

Farm Sunset
Oh how we love a fiery sunset!

  1. Sorry, but couldn't help but not post this. :}
    My forgetter's getting better
    But my rememberer is broke.
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke,

For when I'm "here" I'm wondering
If I really should be "there"
And, when I try to think it through,
    I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say "what am I here for?"
I wrack my brain, but all in vain
    A zero is my score.

At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
    Generally, is me!

When shopping I may see someone,
Say "Hi" and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
    I ask myself, "who's that?"

    Yes, my forgetter's getting better
    While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
    And that isn't any joke.

  2. Sunset - or sunrise is indeed the ultimate stress reliever.
And some compensation for a seventy mile round trip. Some...

    1. Well, thankfully I was in the Fiat and it gets about 40mpg highway so I didn't waste TOO much gas, ha. Sunsets (and rises) are gorgeous aren't they??

  3. I forgot my wallet once, and I had already filled the tank before realising. Luckily I was not far from home. Offered to leave the kids as an assurance I would be back (LOL), left my engagement ring instead. Never did it again. I love sunsets and sunrises. I am not religious but I do like to think that if there is a supreme maker that it is evidence of his creative magic.

    1. Your engagement ring? Wow. That's trust on your part too. I think this was the only time I'll forget it, we only have to do once huh?

Creative magic, I love that! :-)

  4. Sunset seems like a time to just stop and look. Okay, unless I am driving straight into it.

  6. First. LOVE the new blog header!! And "B" nice photo. We've had some awesome storms lately that have left amazing cloud formations at sunset. Perhaps tomorrow I'll get motivated enough to blog about them. Thanks for the idea.

    1. YAY! nice to see you, I've connected to your new blog (everyone go visit!). Thanks for the compliment on the blog header. I'd love to see the sky in another part of the country.

  7. Never have been a morning person. Evening is my favorite time of the day....sunsets and then twilight. Everything is hushed as the different critters change places. Prey and predators do the dance in the evening in the afterglow.

    1. Not a morning person here either. I rarely see the sunrise, but love the sunsets for sure. Love your analysis of the different critters changing places, that's so cool.

  9. When I lived in Houston, I remember wanting badly to see a sunset since you couldn't see the horizons. It was such a treat to go out of the city. Now, I live in the country and love going to the city.

    1. Ha, so true. We can't see the horizons in town can we? We get it in the country for sure. Yay for you!!
