LITTLE RED BENCH, INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday, we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm.

Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

We had a chance the other day to get a small wooden bench but we had to act fast (long story involving getting the right vehicle there in time).  Alas, we missed it.  Later on, we were thinking "well, what could we have really done with it anyway?"  I decided to Google search some small benches redone into an outdoor bench.  I found the image above.

Now I'm really sorry we didn't get that little bench.  A couple coats of outdoor paint and we'd have a nice little splash of color (LOVE THE RED!).

Be inspired!

    1. Yep, the one that we're meant to have, right? I like the red, when we get one it WILL be red. Among other colors elsewhere but red will be the first.

  2. I will lash anything onto my car. Once, I rescued two huge pieces of lattice, placed them on the top of my car, held them because I had no rope. I drove slowly home, crept actually.

    You know I love benches!

    1. That's true for me too. I have not put in any seating yet, usually cause I'm so busy doing other stuff, I figure once i get a bench, my time will be curtailed, ha.

  5. a lot of crafters are now making benches out of old head / foot boards from beds. Check thrift stores, one will turn up and it will be the right one.

  6. A coat of paint can really make a big change. If a bench is rough looking, a bit of sanding, some primer and fresh coat a paint does wonders.
Also have seen benches made from old baby cribs, old doors, even 3 or 4 old chairs put together and made into a nice looking bench. Even old church pews make for a wonderful bench.
