CONGRATULATIONS HARRY AND MEGHAN

Congratulations Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan,
may you have a wonderful and happy marriage.

We'll admit to it again (did it last time for William and Kate), we got up early, about 4am, and watched the Royal Wedding.  It was incredibly well done.  We loved the blending of her American roots with the British tradition.  The US Bishop was amazing in his sermon.  I'm sure some in the Royal family have never seen anything like that, ha!  And the choir singing Stand by Me, well, amazing.

It was so nice to see something happy and uplifting in these all too often dark news times.

One of these days, we hope to get to visit the UK.  It's on our bucket list.  Of course we don't have royalty here in the states so maybe that's why we find it all fascinating and fun to watch.  So much history and tradition and it's all so beautifully done.

Off to the farm today...hope to get a lot done.
Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

    1. Anyone remember the game show, ' Deal Or No Deal' with Howie Mandel and all the pretty ladies coming in caring numbered, silver brief cases and each had certain amount of money in them?
Anyway Megan; now Duchess Meghan of Sussex had brief case # 24 on Deal Or No Deal.

    2. As beautiful as the wedding was, there where a few fails. Did anyone notice?
Prince Harry having a hard time lifting Megan's veil and then Prince Charles falling asleep. Guess he got exhausted walking Megan down the isle.
Then there was Meghan forgetting to Curtsy to the Queen.

She did not forget to curtsy. It was just not televised.

    4. I do apologize. I watched some of the on line video; which I had saved and was able to watch some of the youtube video's yesterday when I had a few minutes and I did see the curtesy which the camera man took from why up high which was a bad camera angel.
For those who didn't see it; here is the video.

I was still awake when the coverage came on at 3:30. It is after 10 am and I am still awake. I love the wedding, but I have one problem with Meghan which I will elaborate on later on my blog.

    1. Definitely the best one. Probably because we were able to see so much American tradition in there too. And like you said a great escape from the horrors we see on the news lately.

  6. No way was I going to not come full circle. I was a wee one for Charles and Diana's wedding, Diana's funeral, the mourning, Williams wedding and now Harry's. It was so well done and moving.

And no way was I going to miss all those hats!!!!!! More women here need to wear hats. Our European counter parts are moving in all the right directions.

    It was a nice day.

    1. I will agree about hats because I love them and love wearing them. My only issue with the hats is if you wear a big gigantic hat, center stage, like Camilla did, learn to keep your head still.

    2. Most of the fashion was amazing. Women and men! And the hats, or "fascinators" are just so much fun to see. Reminds me of our Kentucky Derby but on a much grander scale. And Anne is right, big hats, um, don't move around, ha

As you said, so nice to watch something beautiful and full of love for a change from all the sad and distressing news.

    1. Love and hope, the world needs so much more of that now. We need to take it when we can.

  8. I knew it would be replayed so I got up, read nothing about it then watched it taped. It was still gorgeous and The Sermon? Perfection, at least to my American ears. I kind of agree that it was perhaps a novel sermon to some of the attendees.
And OMG Ava Maria on the cello!!!

    1. Oh yes, the cellist was incredible. Ave Maria is SO beautiful on any instrument but was stunning on the cello.

I didnt watch it and I am in the UK, we went out for the day, but having it rammed down our throats for weeks on end in every paper on every tv channel every radio station I had royal wedding burn out and now the event is over it is still getting as much coverage, I wish the couple all the best but please can we put it all to bed now. :-)

    1. LOL, I never thought about it from that perspective. I bet that's all they've talked about over there, ha. I can understand why it's probably overload. For us here, it's a novelty and something fun to see. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of the world. :-)
