HUGE OUTDOOR TABLE INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm. Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

We'd LOVE to have a huge table like this.  I could envision the table by itself, chairs stored away until needed.  The table could be used for anything, not just eating.  A nice size table like this could be for projects, for decorative placing of potted plants, an actual potting bench of sorts (cleanly potting of course, ha), games, a place to read or plan, etc.

And of course seating for a dozen or so for dinner.

Be inspired!

  3. Y'all live in the area west of Houston, am I right? Why don't you look up estate sales in your area. Ellen and Pam, two sisters that have blogs and live in Wharton go to the sales all the time. They passed this site on to their readers a while back. Go check this site out and I'll bet y'all can find your dream table and some odd chairs to make it look eclectic.

  4. What a grand table and that wouldn't be at all to make. It's fairly easy. Great table to use when having a nice gathering. The potted plant they have in center of the table; just a bit too large when having guests as you want to be able to see the person sitting across the table from you without trying to look around the plant. I do like them chairs being they fold up and can be stored away for later use.
We had built a 9 foot picnic table for our daughter and her hubby and that thing is Heavy. ( used more wood to build than one shown here)
It took me & hubby and 2 of our neighbors to help load it up in our truck to take down to our their place.

  5. Now, that is a table! I always turn tables over when expecting tornadic winds or high winds or any sort. I doubt that one would turn over easily just like my heavy picnic table! That table should inspire wonderful things. Goodness, you could set up a tent on top of that to keep you off the ground. I can well imagine it might inspire a few nappers, too.

  6. That would be a great centerpiece of your outdoors entertainment space. Plenty of room for food and drinks and people.

  7. I can envision a huge tarp for a cover that would be vital in summer.... One that you could crank up and down for seasonal events. That way you could dinner or work on almost any weather.
