LITTLE FARM TRUCK HOW DO WE LOVE THEE

...let us count the ways!

We don't know how we ever got along without having a farm truck.  This investment has been great so far and it's only been out there a few weeks, ha!

We moved a large item from the storage unit to the farmhouse (forgot to get a picture of that).

The other day we needed to move empty boxes from the house to the barn so I backed it up to the porch railing and we just tossed the boxes into the backend.

Then I drove to the barn, backed up to it and we unloaded them straight into the barn.

Another time I loaded some bags of soil and drove them to the back of the property.  Took the heavy filled up gas can and drove it to the mower shed (and brought my blower back to where it belonged as well).  Sure, these errands could be done with the small push cart but sometimes things are really heavy and it's a long walk back and forth not to mention we can't fit everything.  Uses like this will keep the truck running since it sits all week until we get there.

We are grateful for the "FARM USE" of our truck.  It was truly a great purchase and addition to our farm and we hope that it has many useful years with us.

  1. Indeed; a truck is a good investment for use at the farm for sooooooooo many things.

    1. Really comes in handy when hauling wood, fencing and all them other needs for farm / country life living.
Don't know what we would do without our truck of which has way over 300 hundred thousand miles on it. (only vehicle we have by the way is our truck)
You name it, we have hauled it, including furniture that we pickup curbside or on the cheap for me to upcycle.

    2. Yes, we were thinking along those lines. Oooh, you have reminded me that I can pickup curbside stuff! Shhh, don't tell 2nd Man, ha. This one has 226k miles and it's been almost completely updated to make sure all is good so if we could get another 75k like yours, that would last us for years. Fingers crossed!

  2. It is a good idea to run it. Once a month the farm truck would probably like a spin around the area.

    1. Yes, I actually did that this weekend, I drove down the road a couple of miles, turned around and came back. I think it like it, ha.

  3. We live in a rural suburb and people wonder why we need two tractors. Heck we want THREE because we would have plenty of uses for a midsized one with a heated cab. Unfortunately our farm truck is a 1954 stake bed that is still torn down in restoration mode but when we have it up and running it will be so useful!...someday

    1. Oh that 1954 I bet is a beauty (or will be after restoration). Now THAT's a farm truck, ha. I'm learning (and we aren't even living there yet) that we can use all sorts of wheeled vehicles, ha.

  4. I say use the truck to make your life easier, however you choose to use it! Your truck, your rules! (Said the woman who will load 50 pound bags of soil from the upper back yard into her van, then drive them to the side yard to unload because I can get 3 bags in one ldad rather than pushing the cart and trying to maneuver down steps X3)

    1. We love the way you think. Our truck/our rules ha! It was nice to take things to the back side of the property. Like you said, better to drive all those heavy bags and get them right to where you need it. Thank you!

  5. Your Farm Truck is like the Energizer Bunny – it keeps going and going – on whatever jobs you need it for.
