AHHH....back on the zen machine, as it should be. The yard was OUT OF CONTROL. I mean, I've rarely seen it this long. See below for the results.

...but not when I was finished mowing.
This is the view down the driveway before (thought my Fiat was going to set the grass on fire it was so high).
...but afterward, it was nice and trim. I set the mower to a low height to get through the clover and weeds and down to the grass so it would open up and start growing.
The day wasn't without a casualty however. I ran over the hose...in several places (it was coiled up). The grass had grown over it and I didn't see it and I forgot about it. Oh well, now I can get a longer one for watering purposes. Everything happens for a reason, right? LOL.
More on dinner tomorrow, and I'll reply to the comments tomorrow evening as well. It's been a long day, I have a bit of a sunburn, my muscles are sore, but my tummy is full, I have had a glass or two of wine...life is good for 50+1 day...
You have made a huge difference. Not surprised you are a tad tired and sore. But should be feeling v. pleased with yourself.

DeleteLOL, we have so many hoses with joins in them for that same reason. I liken the joins to hose bandaids.
ReplyDeleteThis hose actually had one of those joins in it too, ha. It also got singed in a burn pile fire last year so it was probably time to get a new one anyway. ;-)

ReplyDeleteYou know, I had it out about a month ago but then we had a freeze and I disconnected it and laid it in the grass, stretched out so the water would drain out and then the rains came and the grass started covering it. ;-)

DeleteIt looks so nice after getting a haircut / mowed. Long grass short again and look'n good. Sure sign of Spring when you can smell that fresh mowed grass.

DeleteAgree with Mary, at least once a year a hose gets cut. Last year it was one of the very expensive ones. Hubby keeps patching materials on hand.

DeleteWe had snow twice this week so it was refreshing to see the beautiful green grass. I'm glad you both enjoyed, not just the hard work, but a little down time to relax.

DeleteOkay go buy yourself some fix a hose pieces (those thingies you insert and use the clamps you screw down with screw driver to tighten) and fix that hose! LOL. For the life of me I can't think of the name lol of that thingy that goes inside the hose LOL.. I keep a stash of 3/8" and 1/2 " ones and the clamps on hand cuz honeyman and I seem to mangle a few hoses every year :O)
ReplyDeleteThis hose had some issues and it was probably time anyway. But the new one is kind of pricey (just bought it today) and I will definitely get some of those clamps (I saw them in the hose section but then promptly forgot about it, ha). Thanks!!!
DeleteWow, what a difference a nice mowing makes! Looks very neat and green! I think mowing over the garden hose is a spring ritual - happens to everyone.
