BLUE AND WHITE COLLECTION

We had this stand that I picked up somewhere once upon a time.  It was brown and I spray painted it white a couple years back.  I still wasn't sure what to do with it but when organizing things a few weekends back, I ended up putting it in the corner of the master bedroom.  We decided to use it for the blue and white pieces we've collected over the last couple of years.

Most of these have actually been given to us by special friends (a few of you out there!).  It made for a nice way to display them because they mean something.

We have a great little piggy bank.  The star shaped box actually opens and is filled with wax and a wick.  Then there is a pair of candlesticks of course, a candle holder that you can carry around, and one of our favorites, an egg shaped container to put small items in.  Since the bedroom is decorated in blue and white, this seemed the perfect place for it...and it seems everyone has an unused corner in a room that something like this could fit in.

It might look a little empty now, but the best thing is, we have room for more!

  1. 1st Man,

Looks to me as if you have everything put away and in it's place now.
    Your place looks really nice.

  2. That's lovely! I don't think it looks empty at all - sometimes the hardest part about decorating (for me anyhow!) is not putting too many pieces up.

  3. Oh my gosh 1st. Sorry you have to endure Anonymous comments like that. But I do love the blue & white items on that pretty shelf. I think of you whenever I come across some at Thrift Stores or Estate Sales.

    1. I marked it as spam (unfortunately Colleen that deleted your kind reply too because it was attached to that). Anyway, yeah one slips through on occasion. I need to hit the thrift stores soon!! :-P

  4. Are you by any chance an interior decorator? Because you sure have the skill and an eye for it! I love your farmhouse and I wish you both all happiness, peace and tranquillity there.

  7. That's perfect. I use blue a lot in decorating. It is a soothing color. I have a pine corner cabinet with items on it all predominantly blue.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. You know I used to never be a big "blue" fan but I love it now. 2nd Man has always liked it but I find it very soothing now.

  8. Love your blue and white collection. They look great on that shelf unit.
If your power ever goes out that candle holder just may come in handy.
