You may remember that earlier this year (post Christmas), I found a white artificial tree.
You can read about that HERE:
We've always wanted a white tree as an extra tree in another room and wondered what we could decorate it with. That started us on a new tradition, or maybe we should say, a new thing to search for:
Farm themed ornaments!
These are all we have so far, ha. Not enough to fill that white tree just yet. A few were from dear friends (including some of you out there who are so kind) and the others we have found. The little one is a red barn too. Oh, the pig was connected to our farm naming when we sponsored an FFA pig and was hand carried back from overseas by a very sweet friend.
For this year, in late November, I found some more red barns in the back and the smaller farm truck with tree. We thought it would be so fun to do these because a they would pop on a white tree.
So, the white tree will officially become our farm tree.
We'd like to find more red barn ornaments, old white trucks, and maybe things that we have done at the farm...like a beehive? Or maybe gardening themed? Or maybe future things we'll have like chickens or a chicken coop?
We know that cooking and baking is something we do but we could cover a whole tree in those alone, ha. In fact, we have another smaller tree that we used to put in the kitchen at the house and that was/is for food and cooking ornaments and already have some of those. That's why we thought this one would be neat being white and covered in red barns and gardening and chickens and beekeeping, things like that.
Anyone else do a "theme tree" maybe in a different room?
Hello, I've been traveling and just saw the posts about your heart attack. I hope you are doing better. My best friend had three stents at 52, he rain marathons and was super healthy, didn't eat bad or anything. Genetics suck, ha.
ReplyDeleteAs for this tree idea wow what a cool one. And you're right, on a white tree, little red barns and colorful farm ornaments would just look wonderful. I saw some sparkly bee ornaments and saw one that was a chicken coop with hens. I'm going to see if I can figure out where I saw those. Sending good vibes still, Jane V
A friend of mine has a white tree in her screened in porch and it's covered in beach theme ornaments. Flip flops, waves, dolphins, fish, umbrellas, sunglasses, all little sparkly ornanents. SO fun. Merry Christmas to you. John
ReplyDeleteI have never had a theme tree. I do have a three-inch tree that has lights. I bought it about ten years ago for $5 clearance at WM. It looked so pretty naked that I put it up alone one year. I like your idea for farm things on it. And, I like the kitchen theme tree, too. I would like to see pictures of the kitchen tree and the white tree even if it has few ornaments.
ReplyDeletePractical Parsimony
I have just added a fourth tree, it is an upside down tree hanging above the dining room table. My front room tree is decorated with gold baubles and red bows. The entry tree is decorated with random ornaments we have collected over the years. The half tree which is on a lamp table is decorated in gold and silver baubles. The hanging tree has red, green, silver and gold ornaments. Hope you both (and Hobart) have a WONDERFUL Christmas 🎄🎄👨❤️👨🐈⬛
ReplyDeleteYour Farm themed tree on the white tree is a wonderful idea! The ornaments you’ve collected so far are perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea having a farm theme tree and you both have a great start in your ornaments. White tree with white LED clear lights and them ornaments will be Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYES on theme trees. I have had a very small kitchen tree sitting in an old, bent shape, red strainer and decorated with tiny kitchen ornaments.
Have had an 7 1/2 - 8 foot angel tree totally covered in angels at one time, (had to move out our dining table for the tree to fit)had a nature tree filled with cardinals, and other birds, butterflies, bees, etc. Can't forget about the wild life tree, the blue and silver trees (2) the sat on each end table and then our one and only bathroom tree. Just to name a few. Have had others but not going to list them all.
My thoughts to you all
As you go dashing through the busy holiday season, take time to appreciate the true blessings of Christmas: the moments with family, the companionship of friends, and the fellowship with all.
Wishing Everyone a Very Merry and Blessed Christmas.
