OFF TO CHECK THINGS OUT

EDIT:  I had this scheduled for this morning at 9am but alas, I put 9PM in the scheduler.  Oops.  When I didn't see a post up, I edited this on my phone.
Hope it works.

Well today it's off to check things out after the great freeze of 2017, ha.  The water has been off and the pipes blown out.  So we should be alright there, but we need to make sure.  Also need to check the plants and see what survived

It's an odd weekend here, mornings cool, afternoons hot (we broke a record the other day) and it's overcast and looks like it might rain.

More later this weekend!

  1. hope Everything is OK at the Farm.
Drizzle rain off and on here but I did manage to get 5 1/2 pints of salsa canned for the son-in-laws; and made some banana nut bread.
Have also been working on a new birdhouse off and on today. Other than that, not really much of anything going on here at this end. Just a bit chilly to be working outside.

  4. I'm having rain off and on today.
My garden and orchard got hit hard by that bad freeze. All of my cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. froze - they can usually take our shorter, milder freezes but the low 20's for a prolonged time did them in. The only thing left in my garden are lettuce and shallots. In the orchard, thankfully I picked most of the fruit because the little bit I left on the trees got ruined. The trees all have dead leaves but most of the trees should survive. But I think a few of them may not make it. :(
Hoping all is well at your Farm.
