SECRET GARDEN DOOR INSPIRATION THURSDAY

Every Thursday we like to post a picture of something we've found online that inspires us to do something similar at the farm.
Sort of our own blog bulletin board so that we can eventually look back and someday, hopefully anyway, recreate it...enjoy!

OK...there are so many places on the farm property that we could do something like this and so when we saw these images online, we fell in love with the idea.  The one above is pretty neat...

...but this one is really awesome.  It's like the doorway to another realm, ha.  Best of all, you can let it get as worn or weathered as you like.  It can be like this or cleaner and newer like the first one.

How neat would it be to have something like this, where you can't really see what's on the other side and then when you open the door, a flower garden.  Sort of "Wizard of Oz"ish.

Be inspired!

    1. It's a neat way to describe it. Like when you pass through the door it's to another place or time.

    1. I like the idea of a bench sitting area on the other side. It could be small and intimate it doesn't have to be a big area. Cool!!!

    1. Thanks, I'm going to have to look for a door or two. I want one on the garden gate first and then something like this. In fact I think I have a great spot for one right now. Actually two. Hmm, maybe more, ha.

  10. Doorwaya are magical. They bridge one world from another and change a person every time. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to doorways. Your pictures are magical leading from one beautiful place to another.

The Secret Garden is one of my top five favorite books. I like to get copies and give them to children in my life.

    1. Magical, a bridge from one world to another. I love the way you think. Do you know, this is bad, I don't think I've ever read The Secret Garden. I suppose I'll have to one of these days, it's never too late to be a child again right?

  11. I'd love a Secret Garden door! How cool! For a while I had my old front door, which was red, on its side against one end of my house. I told people it was the entrance to Wonderland. Then a man came by who asked if he could have the door. I knew he could use it, so I gave it to him, but I miss my red door to Wonderland.

    Love,
    Janie
