CHRISTMAS JAM AND LAZY SUNDAY

We didn't exchange gifts this year because, well, we bought a house!  Ha.  Plus with so much going on with unpacking and getting settled in, it was easier to eliminate that pressure.  But birthdays are coming March, watch out!  Ha.

But we did get some gifts from friends.

A very sweet friend sent us this.  It's a jar of homemade cranberry jam or also called Christmas jam.  We couldn't wait to get into it.

We broke out the toaster and toasted some English Muffins.  Oh my gosh it was SO good.  Cranberries and I believe some orange flavoring along with the traditional Christmas spices.  I am currently checking recipes to put in my canning folder and I can't wait to make some and gift it next year.  Pay it forward, ha.

We bought these really neat flickering flame led lights for the two beside the door and we are obsessed with them.  They look so cool at night, like there are gas lights on each side of the door.  Had to share.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and holy cow, a new year is coming this week!

  1. Buy your cranberries now while they are on sale. They freeze well and I have them for salads or whatever I want all year. They are hard to fine in the summer.

  3. Yes, now is a good time to stock up on packages of cranberries. Nice to have bags handy once summer is over and temperatures start to cool down. Nice time for canning is late in Sept. and October and after. Nice jam to make / can before the Thanksgiving holiday arrives.
I do like them LED lights. Adds a nice warm touch to your home. It's the little things like them lights which makes it inviting.
Wishing you both a Very Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Years.

  4. The Christmas jam is a lovely thing to share. I looked up the recipe and might have to try it in the early fall, can it and have it on hand for gifts.

  5. Oooo Cranberry Jam! I never thought of that. Cranberries and oranges are in season now. Time to make some up. Which is good because I only have one jar of my strawberry jam left to last me until spring. I love cranberries and the original, tart cranberry juice is my juice of choice all winter.
